The Holy Spirit is not the author of confusion.

If there were no confusion among the sola scripturists, this thread would be unnecessary.

Sola scriptura is the cause of the confusion and the division among it's tradition.

There is a significant difference between a misunderstanding or disagreement in doctrinal interpretation ... and the type of anti-Christian, anti-Christ, anti-Bible hatred spewed on the internet and some "Christian" forums today. This is not coming from people who are seeking truth or open to God, Christ or Scripture, but, those whose conscience has been seared an whose heart has been hardened.

Christ did not try to reason with or persuade the hard-hearted Pharisees, but, rebuked and condemned them as "a generation of vipers" and "whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bones" (Matt 12, 23)-- Likewise, when Paul encountered this same rejection of the Gospel and God's truth among the Jews, he responded, "Your blood is on your own heads -- From now on I go to the Gentiles" (Acts 18:6). Also, in Romans 1:18-22, Paul declared, "The wrath of God is revealed from heaven .... against those who suppress the truth in their wickedness; ... they are without excuse."

Believers are to respond with gentle reason, hospitality and encouragement to all who are open to the Gospel and seeking God or even willing to hear the truth. But, to those who blatantly denigrate the Gospel, Christ and truth, we are "not to welcome them into our homes or wish them Godspeed, ... for the one who does that, participates in their evil deeds." (2 John 1:10-11)

I've written an apologetics book that offers significant verifiable proof - in addition to the Bible, that the Bible is God's inspired Word of Truth (See: UCanKnowTheTruth.Com - "You Can Know the Truth"). Science, Archaeology, Literary, Prophecy, Claims, Mathematics, etc.. While non-believers may not directly seek-out this book, it provides the ammunition believers need to contend for the faith in the face of the spirit of the antiChrist in the world today.

This is not possible......
This is why. .....
You either trust this....
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Or you trust this...
I go to church
I believe there is a god
I believe in the good of people
I believe that God is love and He does not hate .....

Use words like God is love (this is truth) then he does not hate (this is lie)
God hates sin and hates lies.

This one world religious talk you speak of is completely a sign of the anti-christ.

Nowhere did I say I agree with all of their forum rules; I merely obey them so as to remain a member. If I ran CF, I would allow for the discussion of how the Bible defines the topic of a false professing believer vs. a true believer as long as there was no personal mudslinging or personal attacks made. Why? Because the Bible talks about such a thing. I would also have a clear statement of faith for CF beliefs that is easy to find on their main page. I would also not allow a user to redefine what a Christian means. I believe the word "Christian" should not be used in a person's bio because so many define that word so differently. Actually, I would have a short brief breakdown in their bio that looked like this (that would show up in each of their posts).

Best Way to Describe Faith:
Be an Immitator of Jesus Christ (vs. Just being a believer alone).
Nature of God: God is a Trinity.
Salvation: Conditional Salvation.
Ultimate Authorities: God and the Bible (Sola Scriptura).
View of Hell: Conditional Immortality.
Commands to obey: All New Testament Commands (& Not the Old Testament).

Sola scriptura is the cause of the confusion and the division among it's tradition.

The "confusion" is among those who are being guided by the Holy Spirit and those who are not. The Roman Catholic Church has no lockup on those who are being guided by the Holy Spirit--nor does any other church have a lockup on those who are not. Rarely does any visible church have the blessing of having 100% of its members in the true faith--certainly the RCC does not. There are sheep and goats in nearly every church (see the letters to the seven churches in the Book of Revelation). The RCC has arrogated much to itself.

For some reason the Word has much more impact for me when received through it's guardian, the Church.

Everything else becomes, in protestant parlance, the 'teachings of men'
Everyone follows what they have put their trust in.

Most on the earth follow men or demons.

A few follow Jesus.

There does need to be a lot of comparison of Scripture with Scripture, and with Bible helps, and of course much prayer. But no one institution has a monopoly of truth and interpretation!

Who are the 22% ?
The 22 percent are of the professing christians.

Only 22 of the 75 percent who claim to be a Christian believe:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

Wish I hadn't asked, that truly breaks my heart. Left with such a solemnity inside. Let's pray.

Yes. I can point to a number of erroneous doctrines (teachings) in a number of churches--not just Roman Catholic doctrines. For example, where are we told to baptize anyone but a believer? Yet Catholics and a number of Protestant denominations promote infant baptism. While I don't believe that infant baptism does any particular harm to an infant, I do not believe that the practice does anything helpful and it has encouraged OTHER erroneous doctrines. The Holy Spirit does NOT contradict Himself. If it appears so to us, it is our understanding which is lacking--not anything in Him. Most "conflicts" are resolved with further study, comparing Scripture with Scripture. That only comes with study under His tutelage.

I think the point should be that what 'religious' statistics might say is neither here nor there, in the final analysis; it's what clearly God's Word says that counts. As I'm sure you agree.

This is a more recent study:

Just under half of Americans (45 percent) say there are many ways to heaven—which conflicts with traditional views about salvation being linked to faith in Jesus.
Catholics (67 percent) and Mainline Protestants (55 percent) are most likely to say heaven’s gates are wide open with many ways in. Evangelicals (19 percent) and Black Protestants (33 percent) are more skeptical.

About half of Americans (53 percent) say salvation is in Christ alone. Four in 10 (41 percent) say people who have never heard of Jesus can still get into heaven. And 3 in 10 (30 percent) say people will have a chance to follow God after they die.

Interesting stats and I would say that my informal observations would confirm them. The exclusivity of the Christian faith has been under attack for a long time. It is just part of Satan's ongoing plan to challenge God with, "Did God really say...?"
