This is how to do it. I changed the "http" to "h-t-t-p" so the URLs would not convert.
Summary:
Copy a YouTube URL containing the word "WATCH" in the URL address.
Just paste that URL into CF
Video does not appear in Preview, does appear in post.
Details:
I could not get any of the videos from RCTV's own website to post (and show the picture of the video). There may be a way to do it, but I could not figure it out. But there is a way to post from YouTube (and show the picture).
Go to YouTube of the video. Note, if you go to the RCTV YouTube Page (their YouTube CHANNEL page) that has a URL with "USER" likeh-t-t-p://www.youtube.com/user/RealCatholicTV
I could not post any of the video using the URLs from h-t-t-p://www.youtube.com/user/RealCatholicTV pages. There may be a way to do it, but I could not figure it out.
However, if while on the "USER" page (look in the URL at the top of the screen), you click on the NAME OF THE VIDEO in the big blue area below the video, you will be taken to that video, but the URL will contain the word "WATCH."
In this case click on "Weapons of MASS Destruction" in the BLUE area below the video on their CHANNEL page. The URL of the video now becomes:
Then the only thing you do is paste that URL into a CF posting window.
Don't make it a link.
Don't use the embed code.
Don't make in an image.
No need to click CENTER, the video will be centered
If you PREVIEW before you post, the Preview will only show the URL, not the picture. The picture will appear in the post after you click SUBMIT. So, use Preview to check any text or other items, but the Preview will not show the picture of the video.
Just paste: h-t-t-p://www.-youtube.com/-watch?v=yWnL_n4Ti5c
into the CF reply window (the url has added "-" to make it show as text)OK, I think I will remember all this for the next time I want to add a video.
The first time I posted a video many months ago, I apparently just used the direct YouTube URL which is what works and everything went OK.
Today, I started by trying to post from the RCTV's own videos from their site -- could not get it posted. Then I tried using the RCTV's channel page, that did not work -- then I tried using the YouTube URL with WATCH and it worked. A lot of trial and error for something that is simple. Just start with the correct URL.
All of the following replies are just some of my earlier failed attempts. After I figured it out, I edited this first post with the steps.
