CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The question is, how can I gain more inspiration. Inspiration is a virtue, and to have it tapped one needs to be receptive to it. Surround yourself with everything, meaning pay attention to things that you would not normally pay attention to. In this way you can brainstorm ideas at the level of your soul and eventually ferment the ideas in writable form to be written cousciously by the mind.

dunno if this has been said cos i'm in a hurry, but i get writer's block at the worst of times - like, when i'm about to go bankrupt - and the best thing is to get yourself really worked up about something - poverty, rape, whateva - and then write about that (you won't be able to resist - and then after that, the block should be gone. works for me.

Hmmm... Well I always pray. That's what works best for me. But, writing and then editing it works too. Praying and just thinking it over work the best. Or you could write down all the ideas and spend some time deciding which one you want to use. That's what I do. And I try not to rush into the story. I spend some time thinking of everything that will happen and writing down ideas. I am taking some time to just put everything together before I put it on paper. This is what I do, and it seems to work well.

Ignore the voices in your head that say "it's not good enough." Just write anyway eventhough you may think it's not your best. I also like to sit down on my bed with a little notebook and jot down ideas that come to me.

i write something else... which is probably why i have about 8 to 10 stories going at one time.
