I took this girl out over a year ago and we got along really well. My intentions were to definitely see her again but soon after the first date, all kinds of problems of my own came up - health issues on my part and lots of family issues that really brought me down. Our relationship even as friends barely developed past this point since I was so consumed with all the problems I was dealing with and couldn't afford the time to build any kind of relationship. We still talk occasionally as friends every couple of months or so.
She has since met someone else which I am completely happy about for her. Honestly, I really am. Unfortunately, I also feel like I owe her an apology for leading her on what may have been a wild goose chase, so to speak. I don't want her to feel rejected by me or believe I was taking advantage of the circumstances to ditch her. Do you think I should say something the next time I see her? If so, what should I say?
