Here is mine:
1 hour of space related sci-fi set in the 22nd century on an alien planet, or on Earth.
1 hour of historical drama/period piece set in the 19th century on Earth in England.

Movie theaters normally don’t like play double features,
it takes about 4 hours, if you use normal movies.

But if a director made 2 one hour movies,
the movie theaters would be more likely to show it.

This would be a novel idea. Wish I had the talent of a movie producer to make a movie myself, but I do not have that talent. 2 one hour movies could be a good idea. Maybe, it might be possible to pitch this idea to a local indie movie producer.

I don't think any director ever set out to intentionally make a 'double feature'. OTOH they love to make sequels.

Double features are 100% the results of the marketing branches of studios, and later, the distributers of DVDs and BluRays Paring movies together to try to build a bigger audience. The ideas you suguest would be interesting to think about but from a practical standpoint there is close to 0 market for a one hour movie. Todays streaming fare needs to be 85 to 90 minutes unless you have something significant to draw an audience to your film. Double features don't really work in an environment were you can watch your own choices, back to back, for as long as you can stay awake. <grin>
