How To Live Holy

Live in a continual state of prayer and communion with the Lord. Study and meditate on the Word of God day and night. In each of your tiniest choices between right and wrong, choose constant obediance. Reckon yourself to be dead to sin, but alive to God- crucified and risen with Christ to walk in newness of life. Surrender your will and your life to the Father daily, even hourly. Walk humbly- in absolute trust and dependence upon the Holy Spirit. Allow Christ to live His life for you.

Flee every temptation without hesitation, recognising that Satan wants to destroy you and will decieve you at every turn in the most persuasive ways imaginable- even as an angel of light. Flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace- along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Avoid even the appearance of evil. Learn to forsee and escape temptation. For God is faithful and will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with every temptation, will always make a way of escape. When you see temptation coming, run and never look back.

If you do fall to sin, acknowledge, confess and forsake it- knowing you are forgiven. Then walk on in full submission to the Holy Spirit, avoiding even the smallest compromises that lead you to sin.

Guard your heart and mind with all diligence. When ungodly thoughts enter your mind, take them captive to the obedience of Christ; and in His name, resist the devil- who must flee from you. When offended or hurt by others, forgive and release them as Christ has forgiven you, never allowing bitterness to take root. Give no place to the devil. Be anxious for nothing. Never worry. Never fear. Cast al your fears upon the Lord, for He cares for you. DO nothing out of pride, selfishness or vain conceit, but in meekness and humility, consider others better than yourself. Rid yourself of all malice, envy, strife, anger, slander, deceit and hypocrisy. Be kind, loving, gentle, patient, merciful, honest and self-controlled. Whatsoever things are true, right, pure and praiseworthy- think on these things.

Shun worldliness. Hate evil. Love righteousness. Consider yourself a stranger and a pilgrim in a world polluted by sin. Honour God in your body- His holy temple- and never defile it by yeilding to the lusts of the flesh. For you are bought with a price and your body is not your own. Determine to set no wicked thing before your eyes. Keep your tongue from evil. Let no unwholesomne talk come out of your mouth, but only that which is edifying. Do all things without grumbling or complaining. In word and thought and deed, do all to the glory of God. Die to self and live to please your Lord without reservation, ever-conscious of the fact that you will give an account for your life at the Judgement Seat of Christ.

Love, worship and praise the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Make godliness, discipline, and the character of a true disciple of Jesus Christ your highest aim. Strive for perfection as your lifelong ambition in the power of the Holy Spirit. Love others unconditionally, doing unto all, even the least, what you would do for Christ Himself- for in Heaven it shall be as if you had done it unto Him.

Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing yo God- which is your spiritual act of worship. Do not be conformed to his world, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may know and experience the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. Cast aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with patience the race that is set before you. Seek first to advance the Kingdom of God, and He will provide for your needs. Be content. Always keep your eyes on Jesus- the author and finisher of our faith- our Lord, our Savior, and soon coming King!

Pray daily, "Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. Transform me into the likeness of Christ. As a living sacrifice, allow me to glorify You in every area of my life. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Make me a clean vessel, oh God, obedient in Your will, holy and usable to fulfill my calling and complete whatever You would have me do- today, and for the rest of my life."
Whoever lives a godly life and follows after righteouness will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy- useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
