Seems to be worldwide, here we are having a referendum about selling some vital state owned assets (power companies etc) and the government have made it clear they will ignore it if it the people say no in the vote. So much for democracy...

Okay, you essentially already stated this. Just because you don't think you need your 4th amendment rights to privacy in the absence of probable cause doesn't mean that the NSA is allowed to shred the Bill of Rights.

Constitution? Bill of Rights? These do not apply to people outside the US.

To us in the UK the NSA are foreign spies, who are in cahoots with GCHQ.

Yeah, it's a shame that most people in this world are like the rest of us, want to live a normal decent life etc...

But, there are a core that aspire to be different and get to the top at any cost and impose a certain way of life on the rest of us which in turn makes that country and their people targets of hate etc...

It's about time there was a "clean out" in some of those countries (including here in NZ) and replace these idiots with people that have genuine moral fibre and a social conscience.

I guess I can dream...
