• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Take the thoughts captive. Don’t let them linger in your mind and grow. Take them captive and go on. It’s Gods way to see you through a rough patch. Thoughts captive as in 2cor10:3-5

I really needed to take thoughts captive because I had so many weird negative thoughts that kept me down. So I prayed a lot about it. The HS said to just say captive’. My pastor said taking thoughts captive is like putting the thoughts in jail in your mind. You say captive and it takes them out of your conscious mind and puts them somewhere safe where they can’t harm you. In jail and the thoughts can’t get out. Or if they are tough you can say it a few times. I do it all day long for years (20). Whenever a bad, or addictive or evil or misleading thought comes up I take it captive. I have kept myself from going astray or from any dark road all this time . It is a gift of God! It’s in the Bible, it works. I’m not ocd but. Close to it. I’ve kept myself from suicide with the help of the lord, from falling and giving up, from following intrusive thoughts, to keeping my focus, having conversations and friends and staying in church for 20 years.

it all depends on how much work you want to do and if you don’t want to be a victim of your mind any more. You can work on yourself and do the lords work when you get more free. That’s what happened to me. Get with your pastor go to a prayer meeting, but pray for God to give you this gift. It can help anyone.

It helps me to stop and not keep going along with wrong thoughts. And trust God to have me doing better.

And still, though I might know this, I can keep having times of wrong things in my mind. So-o-o . . . I keep trusting God to change me in my mind so I discover how to stay prayerful and loving, instead.

By the way . . . talking about loving > you say you have an issue with your faith, it seems. Well . . . God's way of faith is >

"faith working through love" > in Galatians 5:6.

And you say you are concerned about if you still care. This would have a lot to do with if we love . . . if we care. So, I see it might be good, that you are concerned about if you care.

God bless you :) Trust God to encourage you to do whatever He wants.

The saying dumb sutff had gotten wost

and feel of not caring got worse everything has

May ask why you say 'dumb stuff'?

Is it because of intrusive thoughts telling you to say them?

Or is it because you want to shock people?

You are in control of what you say, the old instructions to children are still valid for adults.

" If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything!" and " think before you speak! "

If you suffer with ocd then may I urge you to read:-
International OCD Foundation | 25 Tips for Succeeding in Your OCD Treatment

two points from it:-
4. Always try hard to agree with all obsessive thoughts — never analyze, question, or argue with them. The questions they raise are not real questions, and there are no real answers to them. Try not to get too detailed when agreeing — simply say the thoughts are true and real.

5. Don’t waste time trying to prevent or not think your thoughts. This will only have the opposite effect and lead to thinking more thoughts. Studies have shown that you cannot effectively stop or push down particular thoughts. Your motto should be, “If you want to think about them less, think about them more.”

Please seek professional medical help for your problems.
