How to encourage Cell Members to attend Cell Meetings

hi guys, I'm having a hard time making my cell group members to attend Cell group meetings.

Its either they're doing something important or they just don't want to attend.

I don't want our cell group to be lousy so you can give me some advices if you want.


How can I make our cell group a bit lighter and more fun?

I also have problems when it comes to money you know. I'm just a student and not yet earning but I really want to hold some cell group meetings in public places.

Hope you can give me some tips.

Just like many things - people will go to something that is interesting/relevant/ helpful/supportive. That's the challenge, and it will be the composition of the group itself that will largely determine how those are addressed.

This is a easy one. Feed them and they will come. You might want to throw in some door prizes too.

Hello

Perhaps also recruiting some more committed cell group members. Some Christians have a sense of urgency, the lord is coming back soon. Time is short. We could do more before he comes. People with this mindset will be at the meeting.

Other Christians have no sense of urgency. They wont turn up at all.

People already fill boged down by church. You have Sunday Morning, Sunday Night, Wednesday Night, Monday Night Visitation. It seems to some people all they do is church, and when you through in a cell group, that is just one more night that they spend at a church function. Like Boaz said, feed them, play a board game, make it more like friends just hanging out, and take time to focus the conversation on the topic for that night, whether it is something the cell leader or members are responsible for coming up with, or the if you have to use the sermon that was preached on the sunday before at your church, make it an enjoyable time with friends instead of another church function.

yeah, make an spa, with good music, give them massage, make them feel that heaven is not so far away, cmon men, your cell group is dying!! men be careful! dont say anything that will confront them becouse they will not come back to the meeting!!!
tell them everything they want to hear, give them everything they want becouse the goal in cell groups is making them confortable and happy so they can stay forever!

i want to ask you something? why do we came to Christ?
why we believe in this awesome God?
why do we think he is sooo powerful?
because the bible say it?
or because we had this personal experience with his glory?

why do we suffer so much trying to get ppl to our meetings?
this is not biblical. i think peter had something that call 5000 to his sermon,
i think there is a reason of why many ppl used to go to spurgeon meetings and
we cant forget John Wesley meetings full of revelation of God and personal
experience with Jesus!

a fervent prayer of many people in the local little church, a vision of God, faith, perseverance!

So, what you are saying is that because I am a christian, i have to stop having fun. I must not have any friends. That when a group of my people come over to my house, that all we must do is study the Bible, and pray. That it is against the Bible to have a meal togeather while we talk about Biblical issues. That christian can't get togeather with non christians and have a good time and fellowship and discuss the bible.

And you may be having trouble getting people to come to yours, but we started a little over a year ago with 4 people in one house, now we are a network of 50 homes with an average attendence of 500 everyweek, a private christian school, a fulltime deliverance and counseling ministry, and several other ministries. so hmm, what do you think works.

It is ok for us to have fun eat a meal, play games as ice breakers as long as the main focus is to bring people to a personal relationship with Jesus, and bring people closer to God.

but according to the bible is not right doing ''things'' so ppl can stay in the cell group, and sorry men i know churches with 2000 ppl doing nothing with there lifes. is not the huge number of ppl is what that huge number of ppl can do.

and bro, im not trying to show that the way i do things is the only and the best way, i just talk about what God teach me to the ones who need it.

I praise God becouse the way you do things works, well is what you say and amen.
and im just saying what the bible says and work for all revival in History, and i also say amen, also becouse i have seen this powerful revival starting here DR and ppl dont stay in houses,churches,cell groups becouse is just fun. ''fun'' is a nice part, but they come again to the places becouse they had a personal experience with Jesus not in words only but in power, becouse in hard times there faith is based in the power of God(1 Corinthians 2:5) and not in the fun part of the house church service.


you see im not against fun, hahahah you dont even know me, i have to control my selft becouse i love to have fun with my friends, in the service, when we preach.

also i dont belive that we need to be arround christians all day, one of the things that make me sick about churches is that they dont want to be light in the darkness
so im not saying that you should be a human bible with all your friends.
but as this guy made this question, how can i encourage cell members to attend cell meetings?
the answer is not having fun, becouse they are staying with a wrong motivation. the answer is a constant prayer, seek a vision from God, the faith and trust in Jesus, talk about the truth, confront, be confronted, have fellowship, believe, seek God everyday, be a men full of God, ask for his notable presence. and you seek him, you will find him, and you will find things you never imagine and your cell group too. if this happen your hole city can be impacted too, ppl will come to repentence becouse the presence of God will be there

I agree with all your points. The main focus of every meeting is God. However, most "Cell" groups are small groups of people from the church getting togeather to deepin their understanding of God. Ours is an acctual Home Church, we are our own church, we have the same licences and everything that the big baptist church down the street has, the main difference is that instead of meeting at in a church building, we meet at 50 homes spread across 3 states. Most of the people who come are nonbelievers or people who have not been to a formal church in a long time. The way we have grown so much is in just a year is not by playing games and eating, it is by showing the love of Christ, by growing ourselves through constant prayer and time alone with God. The author of the question posed said Cell meeting, which generally means a group of church members getting togeather for bible study, had he said House church, or Home Church, my answer would have been completely different. In order to get people to a Home Church you must ensure that you are in the will of God by what you are doing, must live a life of constant prayer, you must take to the streets showing love to those around you. you might have "hang" out with the drunks, theives, [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth], and liers, but do so with the heart and mind of showing them the love of God through you so they will know Jesus.
