The quote I like is:
Aron said:
One of the interesting things about evolution and paleontology is that its sometimes nearly impossible to tell whether you're looking at two different kinds of animals, or just two different version of the same thing.
But now that I've quoted it, I bet it disappears sooner than later :sorry:

who would explain the fossils, genetic evidence, and morphological similarities of elephants and related groups?

No one who can prove that the elephant was instantly created 6,000 years ago fully formed in an instant poof?

Hi Lily!!!

To be a creationist does not mean that we believe that the elephant was instantly created 6,000 years ago fully formed in an instant poof. Of course, you know that right?

Haven't heard from you in some time.

How far back do you believe elephant ancestry goes then?

Do you believe that its ancestor was created fully formed?

Does the elephant share a common ancestor with us and all other living things?

Sorry about the 6,000 year thing there have been a number of YECs insisting that the Earth was created 6,000 to 10,000 years ago. the question is still open to them too.

Haven't been here for quite awhile.

Around 40 to 60 million years ago I believe.

But I have to ask you how far back does the ancestry of Moeritherium go back?
Do you believe that its ancestor was created fully formed?

Maybe you could enlighten me to the evolutionary line before Moeitherium?

To broad to go into by this simple question I think. :)

No problem.

Glad you are back. I will be here less come August because I am starting a teaching job.

Why so long? Is the reason evolution of Proboscideans?

But I have to ask you how far back does the ancestry of Moeritherium go back? Maybe you could enlighten me to the evolutionary line before Moeitherium?

Hold the phone. Aron is better at classification but if he is busy. I 'll run it down for you or someone else may have a pretty good answer to this specific question.

To broad to go into by this simple question I think. :)

The answer to whether the elephant is related to all living things including us is quite simple too. :)

From what I can gather, the hyracoidea (hyraxes) is the most closey related group to the Proboscidea. From what I can gather, the early living relatives of this group were very diverse in form, ranging from tapir- to horse- to rabbitlike. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures on these early hyracoidea.
