No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

At a hebrew cubit then Goliath would have been over 11 foot tall!

1.8 X 6 = 10.8. Add a span of 8" and he could have been 11' 2".

alright...you have to know,us short people get defensive when it comes to our heigth!...dont make me any shorter than i already am. I am 5'3, not 5'2! That inch make a big difference you know!

Hi Chris,

The (secular/ordinary) Egyptian cubit is measured from the the elbow to end of the middle finger. It about 18 inches or 1.5 ft.

The sacred Hebrew cubit (apropos) is the secular cubit + a hand breath of about 4 inches.

Ezekiel 40:5 And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

Ezekiel 43:3 And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is a cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.

That makes the hebrew cubit = 18" + 4"= 22" or ~1.83'.

SOP confirms the measure in Patriarchs and Prophets:

"The tabernacle was so constructed that it could be taken apart and borne with the Israelites in all their journeyings. It was therefore small, being not more than fifty-five feet in length, and eighteen in breadth and height." --- PP 347

The sanctuary (1st + 2nd apartments) measures 30x10x10 cubits.

Oh man, do we have to go there?

Let's just say that the weight-lifting scene is NOT for me. I tried it for a while, but it was just too embarrasing to be in a gym full of buffed steriod monkeys, grunting as I try to bench something they could lift with one hand. :o

I am taller than average, but I only weigh in at 150 lbs. I eat and eat and it's like it gets sucked into some vortex of metabolism! Nothing sticks! Someone recommended those protein shakes to get some bulk, but I passed.

My body type is naturally lean. Not skinny, just average I suppose. Slender. And while I do have some muscle definition and a faint six-pack, I am nowhere near cut like some of these guys I have seen who dedicate their very existence to the gym!

For example:



I am more into the cardio-vascular stuff. Jogging, treadmill, etc.

So, no, I will never be a Sylvester Stallone/Arnold Schwarzenegger body type and I am fine with that.
