Absolutely for positive! No question in my mind. Once you experience the feeling of Contentment from the Holy Spirit. True Peace. You will never question again. Ok well you might a few times just to make sure it is what you think it is because it is just so unbelievable, that supernatural feeling. But I spent years searching all sorts of secular ideas and tried to match them with God. Never worked. Since 1986 at least I believed that the Bible was translated wrong. Turns out it was Man relaying the Bible that was mis interperted. The Bible is 100% Accurate.

I'm very sure. Infact, I've only been saved for a month or so. I've researched so much to be sure, and let me tell you: I'm sure. It's just a feeling in your heart. When you have Jesus in your heart, it's amazing. There's not a simple explanation.

I have researched it a bit. I am very happy with all the evidence that is backing up the Bible. So far there hasn't been a thing disproven that would overturn the Bible. However, that isn't my greatest evidence that my Faith is True. I look at other Christians around me, and I see how much different they are with Christ. I know I am plenty different now that I have Christ. I know that God has answered many of my prayers. I see God in his wonderful creation. It isn't simply a matter of academic knowledge, but a knowledge on a deeper personal level. I like to think of the acedemic evidence as reinforcing rods in the fondation of my faith. I know it is the truth, and I don't doubt it. I might be confused about sections or aspects of it, but I know that I still have faith in the major aspects. Not everything has to make sense.

The counter-question to the OP is this: How much is enough?

If I research Christianity and other religions for a month, is that enough to satisfy you that I am making an informed decision? Or do I need to research for a year? 10 years?

Kierkegaard said: "When one man investigates objectively the problem of immortality, and another embraces an uncertainty with the passion of the infinite: where is there most truth, and who has the greater certainty? The one has entered upon a never-ending approximation, for the certainty of immortality lies precisely in the subjectivity of the individual; the other is immortal, and fights for his immortality by struggling with the uncertainty."

I personally have done a fair amount of research into various religions including Christianity, but for interest's sake, not because I am seeking proof. In addition, my faith has been challenged through life and trials. God has proven himself faithful every time. Only He is able to convince and change a heart. And now I can say with Richard Baxter:

"I was glad of probabilities instead of full undoubted certainties; and to this very day, though I have no such degree of doubtfulness as is any great trouble to my soul or procureth any great disquieting fears, yet cannot I say that I have such a certainty of my own sincerity in grace as excludeth all doubts and fears of the contrary."

I haven't read all the other posts, but here's my two cents.

Not everyone will go to heaven because not everyone WANTS to go to heaven. Personally, I would CHOOSE hell over the Christian idea of heaven.
Who cares what the "Christian" version of heaven is??? No one knows save the dead, so who can tell us? We can't contact spirits passed to ask them...we are alone in wonder...make it out to be whatever you want!! Think about it this way, you will never want or need, there will be no pain or suffering...it will be awesome, that's all I will say, make up your own idea of heaven. Hell on the other hand is full of suffering and pain and all the things you don't want and certainly won't ever need...it's the worst anything can be that God can make... you can come up with you own idea of that too.

I don't know, and that's a very good question...there are times when I know and times when I don't...I have read up on books by Josh McDowell...so I guess I did some research...what i think about when I think of the Christ is from his book "More Than a Carpenter." I think, "well...if he was a lunatic, his story wouldn't have stayed the same all the time, if he was a lier, he wouldn't have gone to death for it, so the only other explaination is that he really was, is, and will be the Christ.

How many of the Christians here have really reasearched Christianity enough to be SURE that it's the way to God?

Well I have no earthly clue, how to answer this question. For the most part, I would assume that most if not all converts have researched this religion, as well as people that have gotten lost along the way, and returned to it. But that is my opinion and I have no fact to back it up, in any manner.

Now, a better question is, what do you deem as research?

It is simply study of things, events that have happened in your life, as many people profess, to have seen Gods work in their lives and the lives of their loved ones, is this not research?

Are the limitations into the mechanics behind the religion, it’s facts, and historical accuracies, etc. As research.

Or would it simply be, the disproving of all other religions and beliefs, and coming to realize, this is the real deal among a series of false hopes and systems.

What exactly is the research your referring to, or requiring as acceptable. If any of the above would work, I am sure that ALL of the people that have become, and are Christians have done Research, and a life time of it, since the day their eyes were opened to the lord.

As for how sure I am, I am around 300% to 400%, I slip around a bit, but my faith is unwavering in God to the point, that even at my worst and lowest faith, is beyond question, beyond fact, beyond any form of rebuttal. Was it because of research?

Well in the words of Chilufya

“Why should it require research? I love my mother; I don't need to do research to find out WHY I love my mother.”

Sums it up quite well.

Vigil.
