CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The "Big Bang" theory is indeed science. The universe had a beginning, or at least this phase of what we call the universe had a beginning. What you think you know... you don't.

The universe is "interpreted" to be expanding, but it is not "known" to be expanding. This is why it is called the "Big Bang Theory". A theory is an educated guess. It is not a known fact.

What I know is what I received from scientists who studied the subject.
What you have here are scientists disagreeing with scientists on the origin and nature of the universe. Scientists who study the subject don't even agree on the subject, so why should we?

Until or if I ever know a god, I will not capitalize the word as a proper noun.
It's a shame my salvation rests on whether I have capitalized a word or not.

For me it would be so disrespectful not to use a capital G.
For the Jewish people they do not feel worthy to spell His name out G-d.
God is not His name, that is more like a title like calling someone Mr President. Even if you do not respect the man, you still respect the office of President. There are lots of names in the Bible for God. It maybe better that people do not use them, so they can not be disrespectful or whatever.
In advertising we use Capitals a Lot to draw Attention to what we are trying to Sell.

That does not make you any less accountable. Anyone that knows to do right and does not, is guilty. What they are convinced of does not have anything to do with it. People can be deceived. There is a lot of teaching in the Bible about deception. So you can not convince yourself there is no God and then think your going to get away with anything.

Can you really not see a logical problem with this argument? Just a small part of it is: you still have not given any justification as to why the Bible (and therefore all of Christian teaching) should be accepted as anything close to the word of god. Which goes back to the fact that you haven't given any solid evidence as to god's existence either.

Are you really going to sit there and tell me your god is so petty that he'd punish me for not capitalizing a noun?
I have no interest in "getting away with" something. I simply don't recognize there is a god, and I do not lend any respect to something I don't believe in, therefore no capitalization. Not so hard to understand. I mean no disrespect by it, but I won't budge on this silly nitpick.
