  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So I have this friend who is 5-6 months pregnant and from the day she found out she was pregnant until now she swears she is SOOOOOO sick. Its driving me crazy, especially since she always seemed to be sick before she was pregnant too. So how realistic do you think it is that she really feels sick every day all the time? She sure doesn't SEEM sick when us + husbands hang out.... but she still complains about it... :help:

With my first I only had about 2 wks of feeling queasy and throwing up. With the other 4 it was from about 4-6 wks until 16-18 wks. I didn't do alot of throwing up, more of a general yuck feeling. I tend to have problems with low blood sugar, though, which really was most of it. As long as I managed to eat some protien about every two hrs. I felt pretty good.

After that, though, pregnancy for me is great. :)

She could be sick a lot. My SIL was sick throughout her pregnancy and ended up having to go to the hospital to get an IV because she couldn't keep enough food and liquids down.

I was sick every now and then in the beginning. I'm 24 wks now and I just get tired about 3:00 or 4:00. Of course this is when my oldest gets home from school and DH isn't home yet. :sigh:

Could be sick alot but so far as I know none of my freinds know I am sick unless they ask. which is there own fault if they don't take 'pregnant' as an answer to how I feel :).

With DD I was only really sick in the AM (including actual puking), but with DS and this one I am sick all day, but no actual puking, so there is something I guess.

Want a list of all my other problems besides nausea? :) (kidding)

it could all be mental. it's just a theory i heard, though, when i was in my first trimester and was soooooooo sick all the time. i did a lot of research on morning sickness and found that they don't really know exactly what causes it, just that about half of pregnant women get morning sickness and that it might be psychological. that being said, i didn't sit around willing myself to be sick all of the time, but i believe that if you think you'll have it, then you probably will.

my sister-in-law is just getting past her first trimester and wasn't sick once. lucky.

I don't think all morning sickness is mental..... ;)

I could definitely feel something crazy monumental happening in my body, and it didn't always feel real great. I made it through the whole pregnancy only throwing up 4 times, but there were some times I had to talk myself out of it, you know, I HATE throwing up, so I had to try not to....

Yeah so it wasn't always very comfortable, but it wasn't horrible either. That last part was the worst.... all over large and the floor was so far when you drop something....

She really could be sick. I had 24 hr sickness in my pregnancy..it came at all hours. I had it until about my sixth month. I was constantly throwing up..so bad I was anemic and had acid burns around the corner of my mouth and down my neck..they swapped my nausea meds twice....so I think it could be possible. Maybe when she is hanging out it is during a "good spell"..I had some good times where nothing was bothering me..or wasn't as bad as it normally was and I could handle it. Although with me I would get embarrassed when I went somewhere and got sick(I don't know thats just one of those strange things about me).
It's really hard though sometimes to tell with people...cause some crave attention...so I just rather believe the good in people...since I can't really know whats going on inside their body. I would just enjoy the good times you have with her during the pregnancy..and you feel she is faking..just over look it and change the subject if she is always bringing it up...it's def. does not make for good dinner conversation.

I never throw up. Ever. Whether pregnant or not. But every blessed day about 4:30 or 5:00 PM I get dizzy, queasy, and hot flashes. I didn't go through this with the first four, though with #4 I did get sporadic queasiness.

I also have a gag reflex like I never have when not pregnant. I come darn close to vomiting almost every time I brush my teeth, and if I get thirsty and my throat dries up, I can almost gag on my own throat. This from a person who can, when not pregnant, touch her tonsils w/o gagging.

I'm 12 weeks along, and I sure hope the "evening sickness" ends soon! I guarantee it isn't psychological.
