I personally don't see how illusionists or 'magicians', as we call them, use the same 'magick' or sorcery as is described in the Bible.

Today, we use the term 'magic', in a very loose manner. When we use the word 'magic' today, we simply use it to say 'I don't know how this happened'.

Even though magicians use slight of hand, distraction and misdirection to perform the illusion, we know that there's an actual technical process behind it. We use our brain to try to figure out how that worked.

We also have the term 'Movie Magic', basically to describe how movies are made. 'Movie Magic' are things like forced angles, blue screen/green screen effects, digital manipulation, 3D animation, pose able models and more.

AVOID!

In this day and age many forms of entertainment are best avoided, and many more should adamantly be avoided. Often times we delegate our time spent on activities that could better promote love, charity, hope and peace amongst men.

"So I ask, what do parlor magic tricks provide?"

The context of deception as another forumer stated is correct, and the basis for integration into involvement possibly of the more hardcore material is another, and this is not the route any person should involve themselves in......the enemies heartland and principles WITCHCRAFT; which is detestable in the eyes of GOD, both the practice and the practitioner.

For many have fallen by the wayside, because they did not listen to wisdom and refrain from wickedness; which leads them down darker paths. It has been researched and reported that most people start out with addictions by small amounts of materials then move onto harder more dangerous materials. This leads to even more instability and even more difficulty to escape.

The enemy will coerce sometimes by small introductions and manipulate those in it's path. Attempting to capture it's prey and devour it.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What you're talking about, witchcraft, and the stuff portrayed in the Bible is not the same as a modern-day magician or the 'slight of hand' artists.

Modern-day magicians or slight-of-hand people don't claim they have control over a supernatural power or ability. Neither do slight of hand artists. They simply take advantage of the hands being quicker than the eye. There is no 'forces of darkness' involved. There's no 'Book of Dark Arts' there. It's simply illusions.

We're not supposed to get involved in anything involving witchcraft or sorcery as they claim to get supernatural power.

For those 'pick a card' tricks to the 'saw a girl in half, but watch as she's put together' tricks..they are not 'sorcery' or 'magic' in any way. They are simply illusions, without supernatural forces.
