Just one will do.this question can be interpreted in about a zillion ways.
what about such things as the placebo effect?Just one will do.
Only a belief without evidence can be destroyed simply by a change of mind.
No I wouldn't say....what about such things as the placebo effect?
the human mind is apparently a lot more powerful than we once thought.
looking at this with an open mind, does this mean there can actually be a god if we will it?
interesting little conundrum wouldn't you say?
In every case where placebo's are used and are effective the patient thinks they are being given medication,i'm not to sure of the mechanism of the placebo effect, only what i've read in medial liturature.
it just seems strange to me that a drug specifically formulated to stop pain is administered to a patient while a placebo is administered to a control group, some in that controll group will get well, and they were not treated.
If you believe something is real and later change your mind, you just may get a reality check from your first impulse. How real is something if it can be stopped from being real simply by changing your mind?

Would your god disappear for you if you stopped believing in him? Yes or No? the answer is Yes but you're searching for a way to say No, all gods disappear when there are no believers left.If you believe something is real and later change your mind, you just may get a reality check from your first impulse.
Moreover, if you refuse to believe something that is real, no matter how strong the evidence is against it, you set yourself up for a reality check.
I'm NATTYWIRT.The question you should ask is: Why would any one want to be a creationist? The answer to this question would also be the answer to your question.
So now that I made a point about reality checks, your true intent surfaces? How real is something ...
Would your god ...

You are so utterly mistaken.Would your god disappear for you if you stopped believing in him? Yes or No? the answer is Yes but you're searching for a way to say No, all gods disappear when there are no believers left.
Gods are like languages, if no one uses them anymore they die out and are forgotten.
Keep telling yourself that. You are so utterly mistaken.
"Gods are obviously only in the mind because simply by changing your mind the god goes away"
Exactly, you don't reason when God reveals Himself to you. You learn to understand the world with a clear vision rather than the non-spiritual way you once did. Reason only makes sense if it is a product of intelligence rather than a product of a process of physical material devoid of any intelligence or reason. You have no reason to believe that what you believe is reasonable or truth as evolution doesn't care about reason or truth and a physical brain can only fire only in the way it can.Keep telling yourself that.
I do know that you can not reason someone out of something they were not reasoned into.
This is a forum for Creationism vs. evolution topics. Maybe you should go into another forum for this type of discussion?I was wondering where the God went when the belief in that god disappeared, I assume that Christians do not believe in Allah so for them Allah does not exist, [along with the 2000 or so other Gods] so does Allah exist or not? over a billion Muslims would say that he does so who am I to believe?
