well.....as far as the story of genesis goes.....the "8 days old" answer is not correct.....at least I dont see it supported yet...


as far as I know,,,the genesis story has 7 days ,,,of which only the first "6" are said to have endings already...


therefore this points us to the answer '7 days old so far' as more genesis-supported

Then how did all those stars get more than 13,000 light years away? Hmmmmmmmmm. Very curious indeed. I guess the darn universe created really wanted to make the universe appear billions of years old, including star light of stars that never existed. Very, very curious, indeed.

But when you look up at the night sky and see stars, you are not seeing them as they are today. The light that is emmitted from those stars can take upwards of *millions* of years to reach earth. So when you look into the night sky, you are looking into history.

If a star is a 100 million light years away, then when we look at it, we see it as it *was* 100 million years ago, when it released that light. Just like when you look at the sun, you are seeing it as it was 8 minutes ago.

So if God made the universe a billion years old in the space of 24 hours, then He is a deceptive God indeed. Tempting us to reject His Word and turn from Him. Thats why its clear that in Genesis God decided to use *imagery* instead of cold hard science...so that people throughout history could all simply understand one thing: God did it.

If I told you a factory produced 50 cars on monday, would you assume they were instantly formed? Would you also assume the chassis was built before the motor? Your assertions in Genesis 1 are *assumptions* plain and simple. How is that any different from people who interpret Genesis metaphorically?

Are you limiting what God can do? That's putting him in a nutshell and saying because I can't fathom that this can be done then He couldn't have done it. My God can do anything....then, yesterday, today, tomorrow until He comes back for me.

I'm new around here and have been trying to read some of the other threads....wow. Looks like this argument is in another thread. Haven't read anything yet in here about the older legends of the flood but it looks as if most of the fossil on mountain stuff has been covered. Excuse my ignorance. I will become more educated on this forum as time permits.
