  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I chose my age, because overall that's where I am. I have moments when I love to play and express myself in a younger manner. For example give me a heap of leaves on the sidewalk to play in and I got to be about 10. Then other times when things happen I feel a lot older than my chronological age. But how do I really know what 33 feels like? I've never been 33 until this period in time. :p

I feel like I am still fresh out of college because of my relationship to my parents, so I put 21-22. I am still close to my parents, though I don't live with them. I go over to their house to have "supper" about 5 nights per week, and they are about five minutes away.

Kind of like in the situation comedy "Everybody Loves Raymond", my brother still lives with my parents, although he is older. If I still lived with them, I would feel more 16-18ish. And since he is an older brother, I feel like I don't have an older brother example to feel older or to motivate me into delving more deeply into adulthood. I still feel the innocence of youth, and it's hard to step out further.

Um...I picked 25-27 I like that age...I was back in college after a 4-year absence and feeling like I was 20-22 at the time. In some respects I feel around 25-27 now. Other times I feel like an old woman. You know....the crazy old woman at the end of the street who has all the cats and everyone avoids and thinks is weird. lol!!

But on a perfect sunny day when I'm in my car driving around country roads or walking in the park, I feel 10 years younger and I enjoy every minute of it. Of course, the fact that I bought the car when I WAS 24 probably helps! lol!!

I picked 28-29 because I clicked the button too quickly. In retrospect, I think myself somewhere between 29 and 32 - old enough to have a stable life and have learned some things, and be a bit wiser at times, but not 36 yet - somehow 36 being on the other side of 35.... I'm not that old yet! Somehow I think I'll be 29-32 for a long time - maybe 33 next year.

I might add that, although I feel very young (21-22), when it comes to being around others who are actually 21-22, suddenly I feel very old, because of the drastic change in fads and tastes. For instance, the younger generation is so much more into tatoos and body piercings, which wasn't true with my generation. I am a baby-boomer (usually defined as being born between 1946 and 1964). Generation X and Y soon followed. I guess this is Generation Z coming along now?

My favorite music is from the Top 40 Hits of the 70's and 80's...I don't know how they listen to some of the things they listen to today. I did not like country music very much back then, but it's about the best music available today. And the television programs were so much better back then. You can guess some of my favorite cable channels are TV Land, VH1 Classic, CMT, and GAC! I also enjoy the old Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In reruns they show on the Trio Channel! And the classic cartoons on Boomerang, such as Space Ghost, Josie and the Pussycats, Superfriends, Johnny Quest, etc, etc! Today the cartoons are so violent, and the themes are so suggestive. And the animation is not nearly as good.

TV Land had a Flip Wilson marathon this past weekend. It was funny seeing it again, I haven't seen it since the early 70's. The comedians were much more funny back then and without using all the profanity you hear today. Class acts like Jack Benny, Tim Conway, Sammy Davis, Jr., Ed Sullivan, etc. And of course Flip Wilson as Geraldine was hilarious!

Timeless in an odd sense. Oscillating from the perspective of my one year old daughter trying to sing Lizzy Maguire songs, to heart wrenching soap opera lives of my twenty-something single coworkers, to the tired bewilderment of my elderly customers faced with skyrocketing medicine costs and property taxes, to myself - a weary man who's lived half a dozen lives in the time he's been here with much more work to do.

Hmmmm....I guess I have voted the youngest so far. I picked 18-20. I think partly because I do a lot of work with my youth group at church and I am hanging out with middle school and high school kids alot. I don't feel 34 at all most days and a lot of the time I really have to stop and think when I have to put down how old I am. Now, I don't do things that 18-20 year olds do because I had to grow up rather fast due to some family circumstances so I have always been a little old for my age, but deep inside, I don't feel my age. I never have. Of course at one point in my life, I never thought I would live to 30, so most days I feel like I am winging it anyway.

18 ... knowing too much and still wanting to joke around and crack the inane and silly jokes. I hate when I have to remember I'm the grown up now. Maybe it's why I get along so well playing with my daughter ... I never wanted to grow up. I do what I have to and play the part when required ... but the mind is always cracking up quietly to itself in some of the most serious of professional moments. :)

I was moderately taken back last summer when a 16-year-old told me how old her parents were and I suddenly realized I was older than they were! I'm too young to parent a high-schooler! How about some eight year olds?

I know what you're saying Keil---I work with a young lady that got married last fall. She told me her parents are younger than me!!!! Good Grief!!! There is NO WAY I could have a child THAT old!! :D

I can't imagine one much more than 2 myself!

I picked the 28-29 group. My first thought was to pick 31, cuz, whenever somebody asks me how old I am, I always think I'm 31. Funny! Then, when I correct myself and tell my true age, nobody ever believes me!

On a sidenote,---Did anyone else here feel like they were taken more seriously once they turned 30? I think once you hit 30, people just take for granted that you finally have some wisdom and experience and they are more willing to give you responsibility.

Depends. Overall I feel about 27. When I'm talking to my grandmother, I still feel 10 (only because she mentions how she feels she should still be buying toys for us). No matter what happens, I never feel my age, although (as you mentioned) when I realize that I'm old enough to be someone's mom, I feel older than usual.

ETA: I bought my first Elvis CD this weekend (68 comeback - you know you're envious ;) ) and that's something I've always associated with my parents and not me, but I still don't feel old. Especially this morning when I was dancing around the shower to "Little Less Conversation".

I guess it depends on what's going on.

The days where I wake up after having stayed up too late (mind you too late for me is about midnight as opposed to when I was younger...), I feel 50.

When I play board games with my daughters I feel like a ten year old.

I guess on average I feel my age, but I really don't want to be 40. That is scarey for me to think about and it's creeping closer ever so slowly.....

OK, someone has to say something here!

I'm curious - I don't think of myself as the age I actually am. In my mind I'm quite a bit younger. How old do you think of yourself as?

Hi there KC!! See I think that I am very mature for my age. I find it easier to have a conversation with older people seeing that I am 31. HOWEVER there is still a kid in me. Heck, I still have 2 VERY cute stuffed animals that I had hand made! One of them accually had a birthday yesterday;) . Plus, I have to admit I think that this guy from TV is cute:blush: (Gosh, I feel like I am 15 years younger when I talk about how cute this actor is!!!!)

Heck, It is the little things that make me VERY happy in life!!!:amen: God Bless!!!!
