  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Bible says to pray continuously. I speak to God throught the day, often without even thinking of it. Mainly my prayers are just me talking to Him about whatever I happen to be doing or if I'm worried or upset about something. I sometimes worry wether that is the correct way to pray, but after reading that Bible verse I'm confident. God knows what we need/are thinking before we ask and Jesus is supposed to be our absolute best friend, I just tell Him what is on my mind. I don't think that it matters how long/short it is, I think that He would prefer that we are completely honest rather than trying to pray something long and drawn out.
I've asked Him to teach me how to pray and that is the way that seems right for me.

Every Day, And Just How Morning~glory Described It Too. I Think Too Often We Are Just Reciting Things To God And Not Really Having That "relationship" With Him. I Figure He Already Knows What I Think And How I Feel So I "pray" Just That Way, Im Honost Other Wise To Me Its Vain. So I Talk To God On A Regular Basis. I Do Make Sure I Praise Him For The Wonderful Things He Has Done And Thank Him For The Little Things In Life I Get To Enjoy, And I Bring To Him My Needs And Others And Then Tell Him How I Feel And What I Think And Then I Always Make Sure I Tell Him I Love Him And Thank Him Again. I Hope This Makes Sence. I Don't Do These Things In Any Particular Order Or Make Sure I Memorize Any Certian Thing I Just Talk With Jesus.

I pray every morning with my bible reading, we pray at every meal (teaching my children to pray), we pray every night together as a family before bed.

I pray during the day too of course, I'm so glad I can, I need to, having access to God to talk is such an amazing privelige.

How long do you pray at one time?

It depends! I would love to be more disciplined, one day God willing I will be... I suppose if I had to guess it would be for about 10-15 mins after my bible study. when I pray with my friend in the morning it's about 30mins.
When we pray together as a family it's only a couple of mins.

I pray everyday, although I probably should go deeper than I normally do. Lately I've made a commitment to focus on praying for other people and not for myself and that encourages me to think of others and put them first. It's a good incentive to pray frequently and remember those around you.
