If I leave an album for about 3 Months to 6 Months and then go back to it ... WOW , it's like having a New Album.
I am currently listening to Metropolis pt 2 scenes from a Memory . I haven't played it for about 3 Months , and it 's still awesome , still ROCKS , still sounds like the Cream of the Crop ......... It is one amazing flowing exciting recording and I enjoy my revisit .

How long do you leave it before you go back and dive in again ..... ? ^_^

for me it varies.

it also depends on which band i'm listening to a lot. sometimes i can listen to a band hardcore for months, take a couple week break, listen to it again, and be right back head banging or getting into it.

take the band, In Flames. i bought their new release when it came out this fall. i listened to it a lot, and for awhile was actually getting tired of it. well while i was at church my truck got broken into and towed in one night. so i had all my cd's stolen that i had in my truck.

well i just recently picked up the album, and now, i'm loving it more than ever before.

but i also do a style change for a very short time.

sometimes i need a break from the metal and hardcore stuff, that i go to either modern rock, or acoustic stuff. but honestly, that only lasts for maybe a week, or so, haha.

I love doing that.

My husband and I have quite a large combined CD collection which we keep in a stack of those CD drawers you can get. Every so often we play the numbers game. Someone suggests 3 things.... the number of drawers down, left or right and the number of CDs back. You get a totally randomly selected CD!

When we're really into it, we select a track number as well and just hear one track from each album.

I think I'm a bit like tattedsaint.............I can listen to the same albums hardcore for months at a time without getting sick of them. Course, I don't have many CDs to choose from right now. ;)

But I know what you mean, Cygnus, as when I used to listen to LPs I used to leave some albums for a while and yes, when I played them again after some time it was like a revelation of something that was already good, suddenly become much better!

i kinda burned out my meagre cd collection. i need to go to the shop and get some new stuff. i had that with time of your life, when i learned it for guitar i listened to the song about twenty times over 2 hours.as soon as i learned it i put the greenday cd on the shelf for 3 months.i just couldn't bear to listen to it anymore.then when i finally listened to it again, it was all shiny and new. i'm really bad for playing an album to death sometimes.
