In John 10 Jesus told the Pharisees the reason they did not believe was because they were not his sheep. And that he gave his life for the sheep. This means he did pay for their sins on the cross.

14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.

So 1 Timothy 2:4 doesn't say what you think it says. All people, not just the Jews, are now exposed to the gospel.

9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

If you notice Peter's audience, it is US whom God is not willing any sholud perish but come to repentance.

And how did they get a new heart without grace?
They didn't. The fruit of the Spirit makes us humble. And faith is a fruit of the Spirit. God gave you the Holy Spirit before you could believe on your own. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Galatians 5:22

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truthEphesians 5:9

Then how did they get grace without humbling themselves?

You are in a vicious cycle.

Unless we become like children, we will never enter the kingdom of the Lord.
Children are meek, humble, stands for what is truth, they're honest and trustworthy.
We are orphans here on this side of the world but we will be with the Father together for eternity on that glorious day.
Praise the Lord the maker of heaven and earth!

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:2 KJV

Your ideology has so many holes in it. So many verses that contradict what you say. At this point, you're not even arguing against us. You're arguing against God Himself.

Keep in mind salvation was only for the Jews up until God opened it to the gentiles in the New Covenant. So the Jewish Christians would have understood this to mean salvation is now for the whole world, not just the Jews. But not every person. The Holy Spirit forbade taking the gospel into Asia for a while.
“They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been prevented by the Holy Spirit from speaking the message in the province of Asia.” (Acts 16:6)

You're still assuming things. On one end, I have biblical verses proving multiple ideas you've had are wrong, and you're still running your idea based off of a hypothesis. Granted, I can see how easy it is to believe what you do. But you can't base your grounds on just a hypothesis. It hasn't held up, at least to my point of view and the verses I've read.

Salvation was definitely not meant for only the Jews. You're basically putting words in God's mouth and making him say "These select few people, I only want them to be saved. The rest of the world can fight for scraps for all I care, they aren't coming to heaven to be with Me." Doesn't sound like the God of the Bible who is all loving.

The whole point of the old testament is to show that not even the Jews, who had the best opportunity to get saved by their works, cannot. It's a build up to the coming Christ, and how important He is for any chance of salvation. The old testament is there to show our wickedness and how impossible it is to save ourselves.

Jesus said “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” (John 4:22)

“who are Israelites. To them belong the adoption as sons, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises.” (Romans 9:4)

Have you met my friend, Mr. Context?

Based off your first verse, it says "of the Jews". Not "for the Jews". Meaning salvation came through the Jews. The gentiles didn't even know what the Jews worship.

And to continue into that chapter,
"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."
John 4:23 KJV

The next chapter, Jesus is saying that the Jews aren't true worshippers of God. Obviously I imagine some Jews orshipped in Spirit. But look at people who call themselves Jews. They don't even worship Jesus. Do you think God suddenly decided to change His mind in the middle, and give everyone salvation after all? God does not change His mind. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Salvation remains only of the Jews. And the believing gentiles God grafted into Israel beginning at Cornelius' house at the gentile outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Salvation is for no other people.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16 KJV

How can you hold on to such Fallacy?

Exactly. Salvation takes a lifetime to battle and overcome sin. I was referring to those who could care less about removing sin from their hearts. If a person is genuine about following Jesus, he will do what Jesus commands us.

Not doing what Jesus commands us will leave us lethargic and apathetic about sin in our lives. Even though most people know sin is powerful and lethal, they have no interest in overcoming it. They had just rather live they way they have done all their lives. There is a delight within us to keep sinning. But as Jesus said, cleanse the inside of the cup that the outside may be clean also.

I was speaking of 1 John. I don't think John was speaking to one person, but rather those who kindle a hatred of the brethren in their hearts. It's not difficult to know the ones who refuse to listen to Jesus and obey the truth He told us. So many people are 'scared of working', that they stay in their sin and let it rule over them.

I know what Jesus told us, and no matter what others think, He did tell us plenty about works. I call these works of charity, and not works of the rituals of the law. I don't believe in keeping rituals to be saved.

The ten commandments are not rituals, but rather, works of repentance and charity.

You have to look at what human nature is, which is inherently to do evil. If you expect someone who inherently enjoys doing evil to stop doing evil before they receive salvation, then I am screwed, you're screwed, and human kind is screwed.

As I said, salvation is a lifelong endeavor. If a person's heart is truly in love with Jesus, then he has no argument with doing what He said. Yes, it may take a while, but his heart is right. He may fail many times, but with Jesus at his side, he gets right back up and continues to battle sin.

Sorry, I had no intention of distorting what you believe. There are many, even on this board, who will argue with you until they turn blue in the face, saying it matters not how you live.

Man is total evil, and without God's intervention, man would fall headlong into hell. From our father, we have the propensity, that is, the inclination and tendency to sin. It is when we actually decide to give in to sin, that we make it our own. If man knew how God's providence is working in our lives, he would be amazed.

Man does not see God's providence in action. If he did, he would rebel against it, despise it, and even deny God. When we go through life's temptations and troubles, we often wonder where is God. I can say that is when He is the closest.

He may see it after the fact. Many times, I have gone through some strenuous trials and temptations, not knowing what was happening, and wondering where was God in all this. However, I have often seen His hand and leading in these temptations after I've been through them. I can see why I went through them and how He was leading me to where I am today.

Actually, a man who battles and overcomes sin can stop sinning. I'm not talking about battling every sin within us at one time. I know in men, the lust of adultery is strong. However, many men have battled this sin and overcome it.

Here lies the solution: Our hearts must be renewed. We must die of our old selves and become new. And the only way for that to happen is to be baptized in the baptism of Jesus, to believe on Him and what He did for us, and to repent.

Exactly. Jesus told us to take up our cross daily. It's not a one-time effort; it is daily. Crosses are for one thing only, and it's not to hang around our necks, nor put upon our walls. It sole purpose is death. Jesus said it is OUR cross and we must take it up daily.

I never said anything about going about it on our own. If Jesus wasn't involved, it would totally useless to try on our own.

Let me add to the above verses. It is not only by grace that we are saved. We are also saved by truth, love, wisdom, light, mercy, compassion, and good. Jesus is so much more than just grace.

Again, I believe Paul is talking about the ritual works of the law. And no, I do not believe in keeping those for salvation.

Above, I spoke of not being able to rid ourselves of every sin at once. Why should a person try to obey every commandment at once? In the commandments, we have idolatry, hate, adultery, theft, lying, and covetousness all mentioned. There is no way a man can overcome all these at once. He must battle and overcome as the Lord leads.

Those who say we must keep all the commandments at once is putting a burden upon a man. I've have known the Lord for over 50 years. He is still working and leading me to come into a holy life. I have many more things to battle and overcome. I could never overcome anything without a genuine love for Him, His Word, and my neighbor.

I definitely agree with all that you said. The only thing I won't agree with, is that a person must love a brother before he can receive salvation. The verses about receiving salvation is very clear that no works can bring you salvation. Loving a brother is defined as a work.

I also cannot agree with you that salvation is a life long work. Repentance is definitely a lifelong work. The Bible clearly states that salvation cannot be achieve through works. If you don't believe me, I can provide you with verses. But nothing in your entire lifetime of repenting and overcoming will be something you can say gave you the chance to receive that salvation. Once salvation is given (freely and gracefully), it becomes the beginning of a lifetime of repenting and trusting in Jesus.

The hard part for people to understand salvation is apart from works, is because it sounds too easy. That it gives people the easy opportunity to to do whatever they want. What you have to understand is that in order to receive salvation, you have to come to the understanding that you are a sinfully natured person who will never truly be happy apart from Christ. When you do receive salvation, you receive the Holy Spirit and God the Father and God the Son dwelling in you. The holy spirit will become your master and you become a slave to righteousness, meaning the Holy Spirit will convict and discipline you in your sin. Such as hating a brother. Therefore free salvation apart from works does not mean it's a free pass to living how you want.

But apart from those two big things, I agree with much that you said. And I appreciate your response. God bless your heart for being on fire to discuss with me.

It is true Christ's blood justifies and therefore saves the elect who are beyond the reach of the gospel, Romans 5:9. But the gospel enlightens us to Christ our savior. And his death for our sins, his burial and resurrection. And also the grace of God and all it entails.
