I have tried to read the Bible through in a year before and never made it. I would miss a day or two, and then rush through my reading to 'catch up'. Then, of course, what I read didn't really sink in much.
But I am trying again. I have the Max Lucado devotional Bible. It has a 2-year reading plan in the front of the Bible. But it is one where you just read straight through from Genesis to Revelation. So, instead I'm reading from the OT, Psalms and NT. I check off what I read everyday on the chart. I also read the devotions in the margins.
I'm not going to rush it. If I do happen to miss a day or two, I won't try to rush through my reading to catch up. I will just start where I left off and continue reading daily. My purpose isn't to say "I read through the Bible in a year"! But instead, I want to absorb what I read into my life and live it.
I also want to get into a Bible study again. I haven't been in one since the summer and I miss it. Just not sure which one I want to do yet.
