Twice.
First cleansing is found in Jn 2:13–16. It happened near the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. Jesus made a whip of cords to drive out livestock and overturned money changers' tables. He accused them of turning the temple into a "house of trade" (Jn 2:16). When challenged, He foretold his resurrection: "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (Jn 2:19).
Second cleansing is found in the synoptics, Mt 21:12–13, Mk 11:15–17, and Lk19:45–46. This one happened near the end of his ministry during the Passion Week. Jesus again drove out merchants and overturned tables, quoting Isaiah 56:7 and Jeremiah 7:11: "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers!".
The following is from Wiki:
There are debates about when the cleansing of the Temple occurred and whether there were two separate events. St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine agree that Jesus performed a similar act twice, with the less severe denunciations of the Johannine account (merchants, sellers) occurring early in Jesus's public ministry and the more severe denunciations of the synoptic accounts (thieves, robbers) occurring just before, and indeed expediting, the events of the crucifixion.
