What does it mean to say that you don't believe in another human being?

It is a fairly common expression as in "I don't believe you". Which is not the same as saying "I don't believe you exist", it is a statement of the truthfulness of a stated position or positions or actions

I'm not Ice, but I wonder whether his statement may have something to do with the 18th fundamental belief of SDAism. The SDA denomination does seem to believe certain things regarding Ellen G. White.

It's the blanket dismissal I am curious about. I suspect that too often differences in a belief - or set of beliefs - are a stopping point in relationship.
