I already voted, but then I realized, do you mean those of "Jewish background" of ancestry only, or those Jewish by bloodline and raised in a Jewish home?

Many Jews today are raised in secular homes.

I mean, I agree with you, typically the majority of those ... again TYPICALLY... are gentiles.

hey- I wonder you guys- i wonder if this has made halachic ruling.
Probably in the shulchan aruch- Im must inish reading that.

However, If one of your ancestors were Jewish- of course that would make it that your ancestor had a Jewish mother- and HaShem says that he will bless your childrens children even unto the 10th (?) generation- that would mean that many of us with Jewish ancestry are legitimate Jews, correct?
Or no?
Or i wonder if those of us who only have ancestry will still have to convert?

I was responding to the ratio seen in the poll of this thread.

I was speaking strictly from our own experience and the experiences reported to me by other MJs from other areas and other shuls.

The concensus seems to be that the ratio is more often 1:10 or more. Scripture does say that ten goyim will take hold of the hem(tzitzit) of one Jew and say "let us go with your for we know you know G-d."

Our greatest problem is getting 10 gentiles who are zealous for both Torah and Yeshua for every one Jew who is. After all the demographics support the overall ratio - now we need quality over quanity.

I am a decendant from the linage of Jonah. My people took the name of Jonas instead. Probably for persecution reasons, LOL. We did a little study on the name Jonas, and it was found out that our people came from the Mediterranian area, and were tent makers. I am about 1/4 Jewish. It really showed in my grandmother, father and sister, as they are olive complected, dark hair, and real short. I ended up with blonde hair, fair skin, and got the shortness. We all have the "nose" attributed to the nationality, rofl. We breathe real good.
