I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this, but here goes. Does anyone understand what this means?
Is Solomon actually a part of David's generation, and Salathiel part of Jechonias' generation? If so, that might account for it. Or, did they just forget to add a name? It seems like I heard one generation is supposed to include both the father and son. Is that correct?
Is this saying there are 42 generations altogether? I did a head count (below) and only came up with 41. Am I missing something here?So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. ~ Matthew 1:17
