I've seen more than one creationist lately make demands to know the *exact* common ancestor from extant species with millions of years of divergence. It's a bit of a silly request since a) the vast majority of living things haven't left behind fossils, and b) even if we did have every single fossil of everything that lived ever, trying to pin down 100% exact ancestry would be neigh impossible.

By the same token though, I wonder how many creationists here can identify their exact ancestors from say, 500 years ago, 1000 years ago, 2000 years ago, 3000... etc?

Heck, I'd be surprised if most people know their family tree going back more than a couple generations.

So if you can't identify those precise ancestors shall we assume those ancestors never existed?

My furthest ancestor was Adam and through Noah. So yes, it is possible to identify ancient ancestors.

My prehistoric ancestors from some 6 Million years ago.
My Human ancestors from some 23 Billion years ago or Adam's ancestors.
That's God's Truth which is the Truth in every way. Your half-truth is limited.

Our family history goes back to 800 ad. At this point in time we converted to Christianity and all the records of our family history before this point in time were destroyed. So we would have to go by the DNA.

I have thought about that. We will be able to talk to every ancestor that we ever had all the way back to the beginning. God has the family tree of every person that has ever lived. Even though there are branches cut off that tree because they did not bear fruit.

I answered this. Science has proven we ALL have common DNA stemming back to Noah/wife... and we have the Biblical account in detail of the generations verifying that and back to Adam. Much more so than man-made geneologies. Can't imagine why this would be an issue for anyone. (Remember, nothing that has been linked by science that is in the Bible has been disproven. Nothing. In fact, everything science has found that the Bible correlates to has been proven truthful.

-_- the deity calls itself a deceiver on multiple occasions in the bible. One of the most depressing thoughts that has come to my mind is that there is a god, but it lies to some people to gain entertainment from worship and conflict that arises from differences in beliefs, only for its promise of an afterlife to also be a lie.

A thought, mind you, not a personal belief of mine.
