I would not be the one to determine that. The scripture says that God desires all to be saved, so I'm in agreement with that. All Christians are saved. This is based on the popular thread, How Many Christians are Christian?
My question, for you, is how many Christians will be saved?
God desires there to be no sin hurting HIS people on earth today.I would not be the one to determine that. The scripture says that God desires all to be saved, so I'm in agreement with that. All Christians are saved.
God also desires that no sin be hurting the sinner too.God desires there to be no sin hurting HIS people on earth today.
Of course there is. The Christians sins or transgressions against others, or the sins and transgression of others to the Christian, as well as the sinners sins that hurt other sinners. Is there any sin hurting HIS people on earth today ?
In the case of what people desire, their desires do not make it so. However, I don't see God's desire to be compared to what men desire.QUOTE=]The scripture says that God desires all to be saved, so I'm in agreement with that. All Christians are saved.[/QUOTE

We agree God desires that no sin be hurting people.
We agree that "of course there is" sin hurting people.
We also agree God desires all to be saved.
We desire all to be saved.
However, as seen concerning sin,
likewise for salvation,
"desires" does not make it so.
As to what God desires, we are to have the same desires. In the case of what people desire, their desires do not make it so. However, I don't see God's desire to be compared to what men desire.
I see God's desire that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth- to be what pleases Him. And therefore, I would take God's side concerning what pleases Him.
I should think that every Christian having unsaved loved ones would appreciate that it pleases God that all those loved ones be saved.
That thought in mind does make it so much easier to pray that loved ones will indeed be saved. It eliminates the idea that we really have to talk God into saving our loved ones. And, it eliminates the thought that maybe God wouldn't save a loved one.
I personally consider God's desires to be a blessing, not as you seem to make it sound, a disappointment waiting to happen.
Yes, ultimately they are to believe for themselves. However, we can in the meantime exercise our faith in God to pray for them.. to request forgiveness on their behalf as Jesus did on the cross, saying Father forgive them for they know not what they do.As to what God desires, we are to have the same desires.
As we saw earlier, most sinners never repent, though God and we in CHRIST desire that, and we(many) have given our lives to the GOSPEL'S sake in CHRIST for HIS PURPOSE - as witnesses of what JESUS has done to free men from their sin.
We cannot make someone see spiritually, nor make them repent.
We can heal them physically, and we can cast demons out with a word, but
repentance is not ours to give someone else (not even for our own sons - our faith cannot save our own sons :
as GOD'S WORD says - they must have faith themselves.
I said that it seemed that you might have been saying it. However if you weren't, then it's just from somewhere in my own mind and having nothing to do with you at all.Is most of the world dying a disappointment waiting to happen ?
Do you honestly feel that way ?
I am not sure what you mean by this. We as Christians as a whole have been given the commission to preach the gospel to the world. We as Christians answer the call to pray for those around us, that they be saved. We cannot change the world, nor most of the world, and GOD does not tell us to.
Of course it is not by our efforts alone. We rely heavily upon God.Most of the world is heathen. - sometimes (today?) a "FIELD WHITE FOR HARVEST" (people ready and hungry to be saved, to hear the GOSPEL of JESUS)
.
So as in BIBLE, we too, can sow the SEED, (TRUTH AND GRACE),
and water the SEED,
and it IS GOD WHO GIVES THE GROWTH> (not we ourselves).
In our prayers for our loved ones, who are we to say that in their death that person never turned to the Lord God when another family member went to speak to them on their death bed?It is heartbreaking that multitudes are not saved.
When one sinner repents and is saved, ALL THE ANGELS REJOICE IN HEAVEN !
For one sinner ! IT IS SO GREAT A LIFE / GIFT of GOD !
And likewise, GOD takes no pleasure in someone's death, not even a lost sinner, not even those opposed to HIM.
I'm sure that many Christians would have experience of that somewhere in their families. There is always hope that they will be surprised to see that loved one in heaven. Because that Christian prays for their loved ones in keeping with God's desire for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.HE sent HIS SON JESUS to die and be raised, so every man may have the HOPE and the JOY of HIS SALVATION and RESURRECTION LIFE !
So when someone rejects HIM, it is grievous. And fatal.

Luke 13:22-24The Voice (VOICE)
22 He was pressing toward Jerusalem, His journey taking Him through various towns and villages. In each one, He taught the people. 23 Once a person asked this question:
Inquiring Individual: Lord, will only a few people be rescued?
Jesus: 24 Strive to enter through the narrow door now, because many people—hear Me on this—will try to enter later on
and will not be able to.

"A bystander said, “Master, will only a few be saved?” He said,
“Whether few or many is none of your business.
Put your mind on your life with God.
The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires your total attention.
A lot of you are going to assume that you’ll sit down to God’s salvation banquet just because you’ve been hanging around the neighborhood all your lives. ... ..."

The Narrow Door
22 Jesus was teaching in every town and village as he traveled toward Jerusalem. 23 Someone said to Jesus, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?”
Jesus said, 24 “·Try hard [Strive; Exert yourself] to enter through the narrow door, because many people [L I tell you] will try to enter there, but they will not be able.

22 Yeshua continued traveling through town after town and village after village, teaching and making his way toward Yerushalayim. 23 Someone asked him, “Are only a few people being saved?” 24
He answered,
“Struggle to get in
through the narrow door, because
— I’m telling you! — many will be demanding to get in and won’t be able to,

More warnings than blessings from JESUS.

Keep calling on JESUS, until HE answers. This is informative.
This is why I should never assume that I am saved. I will know when I die. But I should always call upon the name of the Lord Jesus and beg for his forgiveness night and day. Whether he forgives me or not, I will never know.
Keep calling on JESUS, until HE answers.
Trust HIS WORD (the BIBLE), not man's ways or ideas.
Without going into long and many references (you might have heard all of them anyway),
other believers who repent , turn to GOD in truth, and seek HIM,
believers who
honestly call on JESUS to be saved,
do know when they are forgiven, when they are totally clean (at the time),
exactly as God explains throughout HIS WORD (i.e. not based on ooh aah feelings at all).
The one main thing they receive from and in JESUS, as I have, is perfect peace and a clear conscience approaching God's throne of grace for help at any time, whenever help is needed, day or night, any time at all.
God's Word is His Own Perfect Unbreakable Guarantee (Insurance/ Contract ) for all who trust Him like a little child.I will.
The things that you have said is hard truth, but I am glad that I read it. God bless
You also answered a question from my other thread 'how do you know.' You said that true Christians would actually know that they're truly saved. I want to have that insurance someday.
God's Word is His Own Perfect Unbreakable Guarantee (Insurance/ Contract ) for all who trust Him like a little child.
As you continue praying, and reading His Word, ask Him to save you and keep you from all error , and do what He says in His WORD,
and He will accomplish this, perfectly (maybe in 5 seconds, maybe over years - actually continually, like a good friend, a true friend; a SHEPHERD who gives HIS LIFE for the sheep)
Since HE gave HIS LIFE already, for us,
HE will certainly provide us with everything we need to be saved!
(there is nothing else better or more valuable ! HE GAVE US THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST,
for eternity ! )
Trust HIM, and see this IN HIS WORD. Pray that HE opens our hearts to HIM, as only HE can and does.
Where does the Bible say that?God desires there to be no sin hurting HIS people on earth today.
Is there any sin hurting HIS people on earth today ?
See this about forgiveness...This is informative.
