  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anglican
Charismatic: Only one, anyone, hands already in the air.

Pentecostal: Ten--one to change the bulb, 9 to rebuke the spirit of darkness.

Presbyterian: None. Lights go on and off at predestined times.

Catholic: None--candles only

Baptist: At least 15. One to change the light bulb, after three committees approve the expenditure and decide who changes the bulb and who brings the potato salad.

Episcopalian: Six. One to call the electrician, one to mix the drinks, and one to talk about how much better the old bulb was. The other three are the domestic partners of the first three...

Mormon: Two--both young, blonde men with blue eyes, white shirts, black pants, backpacks, black name tags with the words "Elder _____" and blank looks on their smiling faces.

Methodist: Don't know. Whether your light is bright , dull, or completely burned out, you are loved. You can be a light bulb, turnip bulb, or tulip bulb. Ecumenical lighting service planned for Sunday. Bring a covered dish.

Lutheran: None--Lutherans don't believe in changes.

Church of Christ: Don't use light bulbs because there is no evidence of their use in the New Testament.

Amish: What's a light Bulb?
