How many children do you have?

Just wondering how many children everyone has, and if you feel comfortable sharing, how long you've been off of all birth control.

I have 3 children, all were "planned" by us and I had to go off of birthcontrol to have them. I will be going off of birthcontrol, probably permantly, in one week and we will see what God does with us. Not neccessarily trying to get pregnant, just kind of expecting it.

Well, I have 4 including my stepson.

I have only gone on birth control once in our marriage, and that only lasted a few weeks (actually it was an IUD). And that was after this last child, we had some marital difficulties, and peer pressure really influenced that decision. Add post-partum depression, and I really wasn't in the right state of mind to agree to it. Anyway, after being put on anti-depressants, our marriage improved etc. I got that thing taken out.

I also had to go on antideppressants from my current bc. My body has been so messed up from this it isn't even funny. I just can't be on anything. And honestly after finding the term quiverfull here, I did a google search and visited their website, so now I'm thinking maybe I never should've been on bc to begin with.

Glad to see you here.

I have 1 stepson, 1 early miscarriage, and 5 live children.

Was on the Pill before and after my first, the miscarriage was concieved the first month off the Pill. #2 came at first try after that. Was using condoms up til #3 was concieved (we skipped it that one night!). Nothing between 3 and 4. Trying the calander method when concieved #5.

I will get a saliva tester thing to keep track of fertility this time, and try to put off #6 for at least a few more months. This may make me not "technically" quiverfull, but to our way of thinking, we can actually have more children overall if we keep our health and sanity. I would not try to wait more than a year anyway, I'm sure.

My children are ages 7, 4, 3, 22 months, and 2 months.

We have ten [ages 6-22] and a miscarriage about 14 years ago. DW had a hysterectomy after the last one, because of complications. We were pretty much off bc until then for 17 years, from the beginning.

I'm an oddball in this forum since we Did use birth control (barrier types) and still got pregnant anyway. BUT, we knew G-d was in control, and we have always been Totally ok with however many kids G-d gave us. DH was the one who was kinda freaked out and wanted to use bc, but whenever we got pregnant anyway, he was cool because he knew G-d did it and not us.

Anyway, I have given birth 9 times, however we lost 1 to surgical complications from trying to fix a birth defect, and I had a miscarriage in the spring of '05. So I have 8 living children, ages 24 down to 4. :)

Interesting way of having a family!
I almost died after my third so my tubes were tied. I planned on having seven, but God had other plans.
Good point..Gods plans arent always the same as ours. Even if we are quiverful..we can end up having LESS children than WE planned or wanted! Some people equate Quiverful with TONS of Children..thats not necessarily the case. I always wanted 5-6 children. I am now pregnant with #3 and 37 yrs old...dont know if i will actually have that many or not..only God knows!

I am new here and completely excited to find a group of people who believe in QF.

I have 4 children and have had 2 mc's. I have been off bc for 2 years or so.
I have discussed with Dh and we will no longer take bc or use any bc method. We are leaving our blessings up to God. We are actively TTC. I feel that there is at least one soul missing from our house. I am praying that we are blessed this cycle, but it is all up to Him.

I currently have four living children and 1 miscarriage. I only used bc the first few weeks of our marriage and since we just had our twins and are in economic hardship, our priest has granted us oeconomia and I got an iud. My husband told me last night that if we can get our finances in better shape in one or two years, I can get the iud out and we'll let it go from there. I was surprised when I told my husband that I only want five kids, but he said we might as well have 7 or 8 (he only wanted two but realized that he LOVES having a big family). So who knows how many we'll have in a few years.
