I had to take this past Wed. off and finished one book and read two more. Now I'm almost done with another book I started yesterday. This is out of the ordinary for me, but how many books could you read in a week, whether you're home all day or go to work?
I can read fairly fast, so I could read at least one a day.

ow many books can I read in a week? I could probably finish a book and a half a day, if I did nothing but read. However, given the demands that school and work have on my time, I average about two books a week. But sometimes it's fun to slow down and really savor the language of a book. Also, the book I'm reading right now is the most recent in a series and I'm trying to take it slowly, since I know that it will probably be another year before the author puts out another book for this particular series.

It rather depends on which books selected. I'd say I can read about 3 average sized books per day. But I can think of very worthwhile books that take from 15 minutes to multiple days to read.

At the 15 minure end is 'The War Prayer' By Mark Twain. (The copyright is long expired and the complete text can be found online. The cover blurb in the copy I got years ago is about 2 thirds as long as the entire story).

At the long end are things like 'Lord of The Rings' even if counted as 3 books. Or 'The Past through Tommorrow', a collection by Heinein that contains many stories, including at least one novel and a few novellas. Or 'Deitrich Bonhoeffer' by Bethge which runs over 800 pages and is rather dry in places.

hmmm, depends how thick, how small the words are and all that but 1-5 depending on how intresting it is

Too busy to read much, and it hurts the soul. Used to be a book a day guy before all the kids came along.

It depends on various factors: how difficult is the book in terms of language, what's its font size, how many pages does it have, how much free time do I have on my hands, is it a truly interesting book and so on and so forth.

On a free day, with nothing else to do and a truly interesting book available, I can easily finish up to 600 pages, and have done so in the past.
On a typical day, however, it's more like 30-40 pages on average.
