How Long?

Will the wicked continue to prosper? How long will God continue to allow His people to be abused by their lying spirit?

Recently I have been victimized by a couple of liars. This resulted in a loss of $5000.00. The sad thing is that these people claim to be Pentecostals.

Here's what happened...

This guy who claimed to be a General Contractor had one of his subcontractors tile the floor of several rooms in our house. The materials cost us $3000.00, and the labor was $2000.00.

This contractor informed me that this was his best guy, and that he would do a good job. It turned out that the guy didn't even make sure the floor was level before putting the tile down. In fact, he didn't even space the tiles properly, or grout the tile right. So now my house is a mess.

I tried to reason with them, and they refuse to take responsibility for what has happened. Instead, they are accusing me of being too picky. Thus they are trying to put the blame on me for the lousy work that the tile guy did.

Even worse than that, I found out that the General Contractor is not even licensed. So he is a liar! And of course the tile guy is not licensed either.

It is a real shame that people do stuff like this.

I just don't understand why God lets people do this kind of stuff.

How about this one...

I just got a phone call from a person that moved our stuff into our home. We were charged for four hours. Now he is trying to tell us that there was a minimum charge for six hours. He now wants us to pay him $200.00 or he has threatened to sue us.

My life just sucks!

Lessons learned.

Use & Check for licensed contractors.
Always call in and verify the license.
Read the fine print.

On the mover, if it's written that there's a minimum charge of 6 hours, you're obligated to pay for the 6 hours. If there's no contract, then it may depend on the laws in your state.

Listen, from one person who lets things get to them way to much...(thats me, or should i say used to be me)...turn it over to Jesus!

He can make beauty of our mess. He has a thousand ways to handle things we have no idea on how to handle. Just get on your knees and tell him about all thats going on and let him know you are helpless to fix it and that by the blood of Jesus Christ and the merits of Jesus Christ, to take control of the situtation and fix it for you.

He will if you trust him to do it. And anytime Satan tries to get you worried about it again, just claim the promises of Jesus and say outloud, "I am trusting Jesus to fix it, I have prayed about it and He will take care of it!"

Things will work themselves out just fine!!

But what happens when you've already done this, and the bad stuff keeps piling up? What then???

We're always quick to suggest that people with problems are at fault because they must not be giving everything to God, but so slow to understand that it's not always the people with problems that are the problem.

For example, what about all of those innocent people that get raped, murdered, abused, malested, and beat up..., do these things happen to them because they haven't given everything to God?

Woob, the bad stuff happens for a reason too.

It's refining, and even though it seems SO unfair sometimes, it is still important.

If I hadn't faced a tragedy in my life, I can honestly tell you that I'd still be very materialistic, still be thinking I controlled my own destiny, etc.

It took having my life taken OUT of any kind of self-control to realize how truly small I was, and that I really could not do anything without God.

It hurts. Refining seems to always hurt...but look back on other things that happened in your life and think about how much stronger it made you.

There's someone out there right now that just lost a loved one and they're questioning God too. Big and small, it's still about trusting God and having faith that He is guiding what happens....for whatever reason.

It's easy to say sometimes, but when you've "been there", you relate and just try to reach people feeling the same questioning and let them know that the refining makes us better and stronger.

During the trials and tribulations it's not as easy to look at it objectively.

It's not your fault. Some people really are crooked, but God did claim vengeance as His own. That's one of the hardest things we deal with when faced with a dishonest person, but we just have to have faith.

Consider it a lesson learned and do thorough checks of people's licenses and get some references.

We had a plumbing company WAY overcharge us for hooking up our ice maker on our new refrigerator. We got charged out the nose and then found out they had tapped into our SPRINKLER system. After that, any time we wanted to water the lawn, we had to get on a ladder and twist a lever. TOTAL pain and we shouldn't have had to pay for their mistake.

In this life you have to pick your battles, you know?

Woob, I have a friend on here named Imana. Sweetest person in the world. I would recommend that you maybe PM her.

She has horrible dreams all the time where a deep, dark, horrible voice is telling her things like "I'm going to use your bones to stir your blood in a pot..." (paraphrasing).

She feels like she is seriously under ATTACK and when she talks about it, I think she's right.

Which tells me that she would be a wonderful trophy for satan, and he's fighting for her.

What is the alternative to continuing praying for relief? NOT praying? Do you think things would get better then?

I tried that Woob....I completely turned my back on God for 15 months. Things just got worse.

And now that I'm back, lots of bad things keep happening to me....but I know the alternative, and it's even worse.

Oh THAT'S the easy part: it's so you will be able to relate to someone else who has been wronged and wonders the same thing about whatever category of jerk wronged THEM. Also so you will develop a keen desire to never be the sort of person, in ANY sense, that would cause another person to say that of you. Frankly I'm always wondering why God lets people get away with claiming to be His and then acting like backstabbing treacherous vermin, but that's my issue, I suppose ...

Think of Joseph. Why is it that after all he went through in Egypt he never became consumed with the belief that his God did not care about him. It was because he realized that what happens to him in life cannot be used as an indicator of how God feels about him.

Here, you could easily take that to the courts, and get a refund, as that would go against the consumers guarrenty. I'm sure you have a similar thing there.

I can. But getting the money back is another thing entirely. Winning a case in court doesn't mean you will get your money back.

Unfortunately, the system here is more in favor of the criminal than it is the victim.
