He knocked it out of the park - that is EXACTLY what she sounds like.JD Vance punches down with a side order of not-so-sublimated misogyny.
Referencing Teen USA contestant Caitlin Upton's notoriously incoherent response to a pageant question.
Expectations were that she'd look weak with her buddy Walz having to be next to her for support. Having Walz sitting directly across from the interviewer while Kamala sat off to the side made me wonder who was actually running for president, and who was there for support.Reviews are in!

She didn't live up to his expectations. Not even one sentence about becoming a dictator. And she talked about her support for the bipartisan border deal, and not 'abolishing the border', as Trump warned his donors.

If she did, she wouldn't need Walz to be sitting next to her.

Dana Bash's question to Walz about lying about being in war was replied to with a talking point, but no answer. Bash let it go.
The whole thing looked rather scripted and pre-packaged. Exactly what people were NOT hoping to see in harris's first interview.
Better luck in the debate! (especially if she doesn't get to change her side of the agreements she made about it)
Ah, back to talking about Trump again.....Ah, is that why Mike Pence sat beside Trump in a 2016 interview (after Pence was selected as his VP)?
So do I, just as I looked forward to the first one. No cheat sheets or note cards for kamala. She's gonna have to think on her feet and somehow try not to toss a word salad when asked questions that she hopefully wasn't warned about in advance so she can have canned answers ready to go.I look forward to both debates. Bring it on.
Ah, back to talking about Trump again.....
Was Trump declining to interview anyone with the Press for 40 days prior?

Maybe not, but it's highly unusual for someone to take the candidacy after not receiving a single vote either in the past or present, then just do teleprompter speeches without talking directly to the Press for 40 days, and then not even do it alone at that point. People want to hear from her about her policies, and she keeps coming up with ways to avoid it. Bringing in Walz was clearly meant to be a distraction, and that's all he ended up being. So less time was spent on her and getting her to give account for her past actions or future policy specifics. The point is, in case you missed it, it's not unusual for a candidate's VP to appear with him or her.

I certainly would expect the democrats to adhere to democratic methods of choosing candidates. It's unprecedented for a party's nominee to drop out this late in the process. But please, don't pretend the GOP would hold 50 state primaries in the same scenario.
And then, coming late as she did, she had to talk to all the campaign HQs in every state and probably every territory, talk to campaign staff and made adjustments. She had to interview and select a running mate and since doing that, she has done many rallies and events, After her interview with Dana Bash, she and Walz did a rally in Savannah, GA.It's unprecedented for a party's nominee to drop out this late in the process. But please, don't pretend the GOP would hold 50 state primaries in the same scenario.
They followed the rules that the DNC set up.I certainly would expect the democrats to adhere to democratic methods of choosing candidates.
You mean like when Gerald Ford became President in 1974? Yeah, that was unusual.Maybe not, but it's highly unusual for someone to take the candidacy after not receiving a single vote either in the past or present,
The "ratings" are based on how many tuned in, and has nothing to do with how the interview itself went, or how Kamala performed. People tuned in because she hadn't done an interview in the past and the wait was so long. People wanted answers and thought they'd finally get some.I guess the anticipation whetted people's appetites. Ratings were better than the Trump/Vance interview. (Speaking of anticipation, I can almost hear the ketchup hitting the walls).
Initial ratings released by Nielsen on Friday, which were expected to rise slightly in the final accounting, show that the interview of Harris and Walz drew in just under 6 million viewers
In comparison, Trump's first televised joint interview with Vance, airing on Fox News' Jesse Watters Primetime on July 22, was watched by 4.266 million. T
[For the alternative facts view: ] Responding to a request for comment, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung claimed that other metrics, which could not be verified, meant that ratings for the Republican ticket interview "far surpasses the lowly rated" interview of Harris and Walz.
