How long to wait before testing?

I have tested up to 7 days early before. I have had negatives before my positives, and I think it only serves to cause stress for me.

This months, I am charting my temps for the first time, so may have an idea a little earlier, but I'm not planning to do a HPT until 14 DPO - my cycles have an erratic length since my mc, so it's not exactly the day my would be due.

Cheers.

My periods are pretty erratic so I try to wait until I think my period is at least a day late. This has led to a lot of money wasted on HPT. With my 2nd son I actually tested too early and got a negative. I was feeling really ill and was about to go to the doctor thinking something was really wrong when my co-workers convinced my to test again. Lo and behold it was positive. I would try yo wait until you know your period is several days late.

My wife gets pretty anxious about the testing, too. Tomorrow is 5 days before her next period, and she just picked up more tests tonight to start tomorrow morning. If they all report negative, she'll keep testing until her period actually starts. I need to get some stock in these companies every month around this time. :)

Yeah, not sure if I will go to that extreme! How are the tests going? I think I may even just wait to have the blood test (if I can handle the waiting!). Otherwise, I may give in to pressure and home test next weekend.

Well, she took one, and the next day started her period early. So, I guess the good news is that we have a few tests ready for next month! This isn't the first time that's happened, so it makes the whole planning and testing thing difficult.

We're trying to conceive #3. My cycles have been very erratic. Last one was 37 days, the time before that was 28 and before that was 32. I'm fairly certain I ovulated before the start of last weekend and I'm going to try testing a week from tomorrow. I was told that some women see a + at 10 DPO so mine will be just a little longer than that.
