OCA-Diocese of the South parish:

9:00 - 1st & 3rd hours (I'm in choir practice during this time)
9:30 - Divine Liturgy
11:30 - parish lunch

Any special services - panakhidas, moliebens, marriage blessings/weddings, etc would be after lunch. If we have a baptism, it usually is before Liturgy - about 8:30.

Mary

Oddly enough, that's just about the same as my parish ;)

Our liturgy lasts 90 mins (unless it is St. Basil's liturgy which lasts about 2 hours). Matins is 90 mins also. We have that immediately before liturgy.

Is that because the "silent" prayers are read aloud? I think the length of the "silent" prayers is pretty much the only difference between St. Chrysostom's and St. Basil's. In the church where I usually go the "silent" prayers are not read aloud, and it is very difficult to notice if the liturgy is the liturgy of St. Chrysostom or the liturgy of St. Basil.

Let's see: Orthros begins at 9:15. Divine Liturgy tends to begin around 10:30 and lasts until around 12:00 (maybe a little before), and when the bishop is there it will last maybe 15 minutes to 30 minutes longer. It really depends on how many priests and chalices we have as opposed to parishioners communing. On Sundays where it is only my priest serving, it lasts quite a bit longer as my parish is fairly large. We usually have more than one priest serving and now we have a deacon.

My parish also has Matins on Monday through Friday at 7:00 a.m., and Vespers on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6:00 p.m. All memorials are done then. During Lent we have daily Vespers. Baptisms are usually done before or after Liturgy.

We rarely do anything before the service except for when we have, say, a visit by an archbishop. We start around 10am (Greek time varies, you see), and the service goes about an hour and 15 minutes. Special services tend to go longer.
