Good question!
The pets become Teens at Level 33 (around 330 days) and Adults at Level 66 (660 days).

Do the pets eventually...die?? I just noticed my pet is 67/100 and it makes me very sad thinking that this means I can track his death!

it's a joyous occasion when a pet reaches 100/100
