i was wondering how this forum is doing since the splits. is it peaceful, or is it still hostel?

As far as I can tell, the "split" affected the forums differently. The traditional forum now allows only those of like minds to discuss substantively. The progressive forum allows (as I think it always did) folks of differing perspectives to discuss substantively. You will find trads, progs, formers and never beens discussing doctrines in this forum (and not in the traditional forum). Even so, I think things are appropriately calm in the progressive forum, even though debates are commonplace.

that is good to hear, I am wondering if some one from the staff can give us an update

Since the question you're asking requires a subjective answer, why not explore the threads for yourself and develop your own opinion?

Well said, BFA. I've noticed a lot less posting on the forum in general. I post in many areas and it seems that everything seems to be running at about 30-40% of what it was before they switched to the new format. Add to that the split in the SDA section and it may be even less.

I hope the P/M/F section doesn't eventually swing to 'outlawing' others as the other section has. It would make for weak discussions here as well. This is really the only place where issues relating to SDAism can openly and honestly be discussed.

Trying to adjust to that as it sees the value of it in principia but personally finds it too emotionally threatening to continually have the face of the abuser that shipwrecked its faith thrust in its face continually: the false Godform found in certain unhealthy and dysfunctional dogmas held by certain extremist SDAs and sad to say, unwittingly propped up by the official platform of the .org itself. (In Moriah's perception/opinion.)

In time as it grows stronger in the true faith of Jesus Christ, Moriah feels that God bes removing the "sting" of that more and more, and making it more comfortable settling into the truth instead of being triggered by literary reminders of exceedingly toxic programming (particularly in the soteriological department). Part of the trick appears to be growing past the "victim perspective" (a very different notion from "victim mentality" mind you) inherent in the substance of such discussion itself -- namely the unspoken assumption that (a) these toxic things represent THE fixed, immovable truth of THE mind of God Himself, and therefore (b) to oppose them bes to oppose God and therefore (c) to set oneself on the side of evil and make oneself subject to the rulership of the wicked one. Those axiomatic assumptions form the base warp and weft of the tapestry of toxic errors itself, and without them, the rest of the weave crumbles to dust, really, and the truth of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ shines and burns it to ashes!!! AMEN.

Experiencing the beautiful guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit when setting forth HIS Word, HIS good seed, HIS truth against the darkness of subtile and destructive error, seeing how HE puts forth His own truth through you and quells the human need to "be right" and takes ego and its little desperate insecurities out of the equation mightily, one begins to gain confidence in the truth, and to rest in it, and rely upon God, not oneself, not the cleverness of one's arguments, not the aptitude of one's intellect even, to make the case for Reality in His way, His terms, His time. One begins to take more and more a backseat to the operation and watch with amazement, love, adoration and awe how He steers things and what His hand brings forth, and that makes it easier to see that yes, an atmosphere of free and open inquiry must be maintained for truth to shine forth into the darkness of error and misconception, and it must be guarded and kept precious and sanctified unto this purpose, as well.

God bless.
