Does anybody know?
I just read some about JPii recently which led my to look at some youtube content about him and what a great pope he was.
I wasnt even catholic at the time of his death, not nearly yet seeing through his requiem prosession made me miss him a lot...

Well, thats the thing. requime prosessions etc. Will the Pope Emeritus have a papal prosession when he dies too even though hes not pope anymore?

Will he be carried at St Peters square as they did with JPii and probably will with Franciscus at the end of his life?

He is weak but good by last reports. To my knowledge he will have a Papal funeral with adjustments to some of the form. At least that was what was theorized at one point.

For instance parts of the ceremony from death to internment can not happen since he has no staff or functional ring...ect. So there will be adjustments that set the tone for the ceremonies for future retired Popes.

you know with all the silence one may start to worry a bit...
The thought has struck me in regards to Pope Francis too, he seems less active than he use to.

I dont know, these thing just puzzled me all of the sudden.

I believe Pope Francis made a statement offhand the other week about how he (Pope Francis) is slowing down. The Pope Emeritus had a birthday recently where mention was made of failing but stable health.

You know for better or worse Pope Francis has been SO active in his pontificate (which is very impressive) that usual (papal activity level) comes of as bad news.

Yes I remember the lung issues he has had his whole life. I read somewhere a year ago or something that his weight gaining as pope made that particular Health issue more of a concern than it had been in the past.

Rosary intentions today = the two popes ;)

Last time i heard anything was a few weeks ago he made a statement on the threat of liberalism or was it relativism? Ithink it was liberalism and the rise of islam. Seems of sound mind slightly more frail but still going strong.... may he live a 1000 years
