How cruel is your God for making something he forbids feel so incredibly good; and to add insult to injury, he even makes it one of the brains most primal urges and instincts.
You're all basically hardwired to want sex all day every day, yet your God explicitly prohibits it except under some very specific circumstances.
That leaves me to believe that your God either has a very poor understanding of the human mind, or he is a twisted sadist.

Actually, thank society. We used to get married at thirteen or twelve, right about when the whole sex drive begins. Now, we are forced to endure the height of hormones without an outlet. I blame society, but it still gives me no right to infringe on the laws set by God.

If masturbation is a sin, why did God create masturbation?? o_O
There is almost always a erroneous way of using God's gifts. Relaxing instead of doing your duties, eating unhealthy food, using medical products as drugs, using a weapon to kill someone innocent.

The same goes for masturbation, which is a perverted use of the reproductive organs. It ends up making you thinking of or even threating other people like means for your urges and opens the door to a lot of sexual perversities. God made this "function" pleasurable to reward those who which to spend the rest of their lives together and bring life to the world, not pleasurable for pleasure's sake.

How cruel is your God for making something he forbids feel so incredibly good; and to add insult to injury, he even makes it one of the brains most primal urges and instincts.

He is not a twisted sadist, actually victory over evil wouldn't be possible if there was no evil. There is certain pleasure in being able to control one's feelings. Without darkness, there would be no light. And something feeling good doesn't make it good, I probably don't have to give any more examples of this.

No. We can't really comprehend him he's:
Omnipotent
Omnipresent
Omniscient
..etc

and he knows the best for us. God isn't cruel.

why must everything be wrong or right when we have no understanding of what it is we are talking about? the bible tells us how to judge? it tells us that we should judge the behaviors, actions, attitudes, and ect but under no circumstances are we to judge a person. people either don't understand or refused to agree with the truth of the word(there are exceptions but they are few and far between). God has rules that the bible tells us we are to live up too. then there are things that are not mentioned in the word specifically. those things that are not mentioned specifically are neutral in and of themselves. because only God can create and the devil who cannot create can only twist what God created. so this shows us that everything comes from God but it is we ourselves who make a thing good or evil. it all depends upon how it is used. for example lets take masturbation. masturbation is not good or evil until something is done with it. if you start dreaming of your wife while masturbating then that is not a sin. if you are thinking of another lady who is not your wife and you are dreaming of having sex with her then it is wrong. the major concern here is that some people believe masturbation is wrong in any form. in this case if they do it all all they have sinned. not because masturbation is wrong in God's eyes but that we can make God's rules more strict for ourselves as long as we do not change any of the meanings within the word. paul talks of this in 1 cor 8:9-13.

I was up for a long time thinking about it last night, and trying to resist many urges that came about.. Masturbation is a sin because it doesn't originate from your faith, and it is adultery.
This is one of the main problems that is still around that was around before I was saved by Christ. I've been trying to resist, and it takes a lot of heart. Watch the movie 'Fireproof', it tells a lot about resisting urges and is just a good movie.
Yeah, sure, everyone does it, but you wouldn't jump off a bridge if everyone did that, too! :p
So, it's a touchy area, but I'm against it. I just wish it was easier to resist. :p

I think it's a little closed-minded to claim that you can't touch without sexual thoughts. There is an obvious connection, but ultimately it can just be physical stimulation, without any lustful thoughts.

Having dealt with an addiction in the past, I can attest to its disturbing effectiveness as a form of stress relief, and the negative psychological effects I suffered were almost certainly a result of the lustful nature of the act, not the act itself. I would personally recommend trying to find some alternate form of stress relief, or at least doing it in careful moderation, but if you really can do that without engaging in lustful fantasies, then I don't think you're doing anything morally objectionable.

Hm, maybe I shouldn't have made this my first post. @.@

I've struggled in the past with masturbation. Looked for advice on it, and many people say, "oh it's natural" or "as long as you're not lusting, it's cool". But ask yourselves, I mean TRULY ask yourselves, when you're masturbating are you not thinking of lust? People like to make themselves feel better about masturbating by saying "it's never mentioned in the Bible so i can do it". Well, the Bible clearly states that the moment you lust after a women, you've commited a sin. So yes, I 'll make some of the previous posters happy and say "masturbation in and of itself is not a sin". But why shouldn't you touch? because most of us don't have the self control to not be thinking about lust while doing it. I know it is difficult, but God never said this would be easy. That is why you need to stay strong and faithful in Him and His Word so as to not let the devil get to you because of something menial like masturbation (there's no point trying to justify it if all the while you feel guilty)

My friend said that Jesus gently hinted at masturbation being a sin in Matthew 5:28:30. I thought it was funny when I read this in the context of masturbation x]

28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

30And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

If you want to stop, then I'll pray for you. But if you don't want to stop then keep going at it, but know it is a sin and that I don't agree with it. (I hate bringing my morals into things because I feel like I'm drawing a big target on my forehead) =]
