It depends. A lot of my friends have listed 'loves his mum' or has a great deal of respect for mum as a desirable quality, cuz it tends to be how they go on to treat you. It definitely depends on the situation though- sometimes its just not possible or practical. We are supposed to respect and honour them though, even if we disagree on everything

I have a good relationship with my mom. I love her so much and even though we have our disagreements at times, I now understand that she knows what's best for me. She is a virtuous woman, and because of her relationship with God she has molded me into the young woman I am today and I am truly grateful.:)

A good relationship with a mom is very important. All kids are designed to have both a mom and a dad. When half of that is taken away (ie, mom dies, leaves, is abusive, or just doesn't have a good relationship with child), the child will start to look for other moms (not biological). In other words, they look for a maternal figure to fill the place of their mom. It's a psychological thing. If it's not taken care of, the person will be dealing with the effects of a bad relationship for a lifetime.

Proverbs 1:8
"Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching."

My mothers fervent prayers kept our family together in the hard times. Her teaching brought me up in integrity and uprightness and pointed me towards Christ where her faith then became my own. She will always have a place in my heart.
