To marksman315,
I wouldnt worry about being homophobic from what you have said, I am sure I am by dictionary definition anyway despite the questionaire. As long as one loves homosexuals its good to be homophobic.
But thats what a Christian is, one who knows this is possible because they have had their sin forgiven and they have the hope of Glory. Take 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 as an example on this very issue.I find it hard to believe that one's aim is so good that a Christian can target 'the sin' without hitting the 'sinner' with the same arrow.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
In what way?Luke 6:41

To EnemyPartyII,
In what way?
I am talking about a Christian knowing they have had their sin forgiven through repentance and faith in Christ, and they have the hope of Glory with 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 as an example on this very issue.
Surely Luke 6:41 is about self righteousness of expecting someone else to repent and not oneself to.
I am not telling anyone else what I consider to be their sins, I am referring to what God’s word says about a certain sin.So, you sinned today? If so, you got no place telling anyone else about what you consider to be their sins. The Bible says so.

The dictionary definition of homophobia is ": irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals"
I agree you are correct with the definition, this does seem to be the usual definition.

It is impossible to be a dictionary homophobe and "love homosexuals."
yes there is something, an aversion to erotic activity between men is healthy and good because it shows one knows it is error. There is nothing "good" in irrational fear, aversion or discrimination.
Read Luke 6:42... it pretty clearly tells us not to go around pontificating on the sins of others before we've sorted out our own sinfulness.
So, you sinned today? If so, you got no place telling anyone else about what you consider to be their sins. The Bible says so.

However homosexuality from the same dictionary also includes
erotic activity with another of the same sex
Such activity is error and quite natural to have an aversion to it, so although overall I agree with you except that I must have an element of homophobia.

Actually an aversion to same sex erotic activity, coupled with an attraction to members of the opposite sex, shows that one is heterosexual in orientation. It doesn't show anything about a knowledge of error.
And when one feels a similar aversion to erotic activity with members of the opposite sex, coupled with attraction to the same sex, it shows that they are homosexual in orientation.
Orientation is a given, and, the best research indicates that it is determined before birth. Orientation in and of itself is morally neutral. It is neither good nor bad. Sexual acts have a moral component and ethics comes into play here.
I also firmly believe that it is not good to be irrationally afraid or averse to anything. There are rational fears and aversions. Homophobia is, by dictionary definition, not one of them.
And what about me? I have an aversion to any PDAs by other folks regardless of orientation. Is two guys making out something I'd rather not see? Uhuh. Guy and a girl too, equally. Just me. And I guess that's why I scored a 13 instead of a zero. I could care less what someone's orientation is - just don't want to see tonsil hockey from anyone, lol.
The only other thing that makes me uncomfortable with gay folk is when you initially learn their gay. There is a moment there where he/she is wondering how you'll react and I know at that time I'm under scrutiny to see if I'm a homophobe or not. I don't like that, I don't do well when I think someone is trying to figure me out - I'm all awkward. There's no way around it - it's a reality in our society - since the prejudice exists people are on guard for it. Once we get past that moment, all is good.
I started work at a new workplace 2 months back, and at first you know nobody. But I've made a goodly number of friends there, and 2 really good ones in my estimation. One of the two is gay, and I really like this woman. The 'oh, you're gay' bump in the relationship passed super smooth, she knew right away I wasn't a phobe. And now sharing workspace and breaks with her makes work all the more enjoyable.
