I was wondering if anyone here could help me track down my ideal version of the hymn "how Great though art"? If there is a better place to ask questions like this (I will have a lot), I'd also be glad to hear that. In any case, my definition of ideal for this song is as follows:
1) It includes ALL the verses of the song (Or at least the four listed at the first google result for How great thou art lyrics)
2) Performed in a simple, traditional manner - while this is hard to define, the important point is that they don't do anything extravagant, such as vocal trills or complicated timings. Looking for something that is easy to sing along with, and sounds like what we sang in church when I was growing up
3) while not a requirement, I would prefer something performed by someone with a deeper, more powerful voice.
As a reference point, I love the style of Andy Griffith performing this song. The only points against him are that a) he skips a verse, and b) he talks through the last verse. So if I could find a version that sounds like his, but with all the verses and without talking, I'd be ecstatic. Yes, I know I'm picky
Any suggestions? Thanks!
