You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.

You are a fundamentalist. You take the Bible as the foundation of your faith and read it very literally, and it shapes your worldview. Non-fundamentalist Christians have watered-down the Gospel in your view, and academic study of the Bible stops us from 'taking God at his word.' Science is opposed to faith, as it contradicts basic biblical truths.

Interesting quiz. I too struggled with some of the questions as they were very unclear.

Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 79%
Reformed Evangelical 75%
Fundamentalist 75%
Neo orthodox 61%
Emergent/Postmodern 50%
Classical Liberal 29%
Roman Catholic 25%
Charismatic/Pentecostal 18%
Modern Liberal 11%

I would personally place Reformed Evangelical and Fundamentalist above Evangelical, but it's not that big a deal. My ratings on Neo orthodox, Emergent, and Liberal are waaaaaaay off though (way too high). Maybe because of the lack of clarity in some questions.

Nearly 18 months later, not much has changed in terms of how I score. Well, I'm a little more fundy than before, I guess.

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan.

You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Examples of strange questions:

1. "Older churches are unintelligible to modern people"----Say what?

2. "There is a significant place for Mary in Christian theology"----Well, that depends on what the author means by "significant place". Her obedience to God's will was at least as important as Abraham's, Noah's, and the Apostle Paul's obedience. However, she has no role in our salvation.

3. "We cannot understand God without looking first at humanity"----Hmm, God is perfection and we're not.

4. "The best proof of God is drawn from the inward experience of the believer"----The assurance and conviction of HS is proof, but there are other proofs as well.

5. "Preaching the word is more important than worship"---- Er, they're both integral parts to the church service.

6. "The person of Christ, rather than the Bible, is the central focus of God's self-revelation"----Uh, both are God's revelation of Himself.

7. "Spirituality is more important than detailed dogmatics"----It's possible to have immense knowledge of doctrine and be spiritually deader than a doorpost, but how can you grow in Christ without knowledge of Him? Also, zeal without knowledge is not a good thing.

Yeah, I agree with you. Those are some odd questions there, and I remember a few others that were contradictory questions. Also, I feel that my results where skewed when I selected neutral answers on the questions about Christian leaders whom I had no clue, or not enough information about them.

Definately a flawed test. it might be more accurate if it was done in context with a class or some clarification on
specifics of questions. I did not get all the names and I had to go against some I agree with and for ones I disagree with because the questins were to unclear . unless that was the point.

Yeah, I googled Barton's name and a couple others. Then, I retook the test, and got a result that was higher in percentage for Fundamentalist. However, I remember that some of those questions contradicted each other, OR were purposely vague.

Good ol' wicki, yeah! The ones who decided that even JWs and Mormons deserve to be labeled as Christians simply because they call themselves Christians. Yep, ya gotta love them guys at Wiki!
