Also, "fighting abortion" is entirely different from "fighting to make abortion illegal." Most efforts to make abortion illegal also involve efforts, like abstinence-only education and limiting access to birth control, that will just make illegal abortions more likely were the efforts to make abortion illegal succeed.

 That's an important distinction, loriersea. So is the priority really forcing ones will onto someone else - i.e., "sex before marriage is wrong so DON'T?" I've often thought that the true motive of a person "fighting to make abortion illegal" is to force their will and morality upon another. Frequently it's abortion advocates who are pushing birth control - THE ONLY LOGICAL WAY TO CONTROL ABORTION. Planned parenthood offers abortion as a last resort. They pound the streets with condomns and make birth control accessible to the poor and uneducated.

There are many of different things people who "fight" abortion could be doing which one may argue is a more crucial moral issue.. (just take a look at the thread "What is the most pressing moral issue of our time".
However it seems many people have vision with blinkers.

Thanks for the tip. That's an interesting thread.
