HOW FAR IS TOO FAR

Why do Christians so often scour the Bible looking for moral loopholes instead of using the "better safe than sorry" approach when it comes to what God wants from them? Personally, I'd rather not enage in any activity that could be considered questionable or unholy in God's sight.

hello, fornication in the original greek meant whoredom.... anyways i think i am a christian based on one premise and one premise alone. I believe jesus christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again and by believing i am free. if you need something else to make you a christian what is it? I THINK YOUR JUDGING ME. which means your violating gods command, and that sin is just as bad in gods sight as sodomy since sin is sin, so in this way what makes you so sure your a christian.

Im not judging you bigdog, i was simply making an observation that you just dont seem to act with love and understanding, you dont seem to pay attention to what it really says in the bible. You dont seem to follow Gods commands. Im just trying to challenge you to really look at your life, to find out what it means to follow like Christ.

1 corinthians 7:8
"now to the unmarried and the widows I say: it is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

1 corinthians 7:36 if anyone thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if she is getting along in years and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. he is not sinning. They should get married but the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin--this man also does the right thing. So then, he who maries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does even better.

Bigdog-I am confused. You asked for scripture, you were given scripture. You then accuse people of judging you. You are right, we can not judge your eternal salvation, that is between you and God. But as Christians, we are called to admonish each other, helping to keep each other accountable in our lives. I think that is what we are trying to do in this thread. It isn't easy to be sexually pure. Satan knows that. That's why we are so easily tempted in this area.
