  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How faith saved me last week is only an example!

Hi all,
I'm a new member if the forums too, but I have promised myself to be more active here sharing my experience.
Firstly I'm glad for this connection platform which allows to interexchange ideas.
Life brought me down to my knees lately, had to take major decisions in life and was totally lost, won't go into details, but here is what I did and shortly after I was fresh and inspired which led me to making the right decisions.
So over that weekend I fasted one whole Friday sunset to sunrise of food and drank only water، was off work too so decided to ground up, took a shower, threw away all my unimportant things clothes that I don't wear and so, felt lighter overall then did a gentle excercise before sunset, took a shower and here we go sir:
It was the most delicious meatball spaghetti meal ever with a great piece of bread and a glass of coke! I realised again that happiness is internal and after fasting even this meal brought happiness to my heart and was fresh for decision making after such a spiritual day which was dedicated by fasting to God and asking him through prayer for the right steps. Amen!

I too have fasted, three times in my life for 3 days length each time, only water. I've done many 1 day fasts though as I was raised a Mormon and switched to Catholic later on. It is an awesome prayer to God isn't it? One can't help but feel spiritually cleansed after such things :) Welcome to the forums.

Hi Devin,
Fasting is great for spirituality, also I'm a spiritual explorer and a Christian of course. Nice talking to you have a great day brother :)
