... I felt guilty for burdening anyone with my own concerns, and not being 100% happy, 100% of the time. I felt really frustrated that every time I needed to stand up for myself, I fell apart emotionally to the point of sometimes not even being able to talk intelligably. That made me feel disappointed and angry at myself. Suffice it to say that now if someone pushes me or tries to walk on me like a doormat, I stand my ground without being overly emotional about it. I deserve to be treated as nice as I treat other people. Sometimes people step on your toes and they aren't even aware of it. So, I approach it that way.
