I'm in the process of writing a book. I have the main idea in the program and now I'm ready to start writing the book. I'm just wondering for those that write poems or books, what keeps you going?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Write what you know. Just let it flow out of you. If you get stuck, take a break, pray or go for a walk.
Sometimes I just start brainstorming ideas... just type/write anything that comes to mind... no matter how silly it sounds. Then go back, pick out and develop the stuff that sounds good.
Also, keep a pad and paper near you always. Good ideas seem to pop out of nowhere.
Read a lot. You get inspiration there also.

Hello,
I recently embarked on the writing journey after seeing my children in a 4D ultrasound three months ago. They motivated me to get crackin'!
For the longest, I believed writing was a gift, but I questioned my talent. Little did I realize, writing is an art. It's not right or wrong, it's a vision. An idea.
When you find what you have a passion for, you won't be able to put your pen down or keep your fingers off the keyboard. Writer's block will not come about. Dry periods of thoughtless nights sitting at a computer screen will be an afterthought.
If I might add a tip or two, DON'T give up on your passion. Be patient. Write because you love it, not for the money.
