  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you view the Beatles?

I'm old enough to remember seeing The Beatles when they first appeared on American TV (The Ed Sullivan Show-1964). They were the first band I ever loved.
The Beatles changed the course of American (and world) music history.

I notice that most of the posters who say they sucked or were overrated are in their 20's. Hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but quite honestly, you don't know what you're talking about.
Feel free to prove me wrong. Why did they suck? How were they overrated?

No, they weren't a perfect band, and by the end, it was clear that they were tired of each other and itching to go their own ways.

But "Revolver" remains arguably the best album of all time. And it clocks in at around 30 minutes!
With the help of producer George Martin, they pioneered studio innovations and recording techniques.

They made damn good music!

I've heard The Beatles entire catalog so much, that their songs simply don't evoke much emotion in me anymore. But there is one song that I still love and can listen to any time - Penny Lane.
A perfect pop song.
