I want some ideas on how to spend time with God, outside of just Reading the Bible and Prayer and want some input from you guys/women on how to do so, One thing I've thought about is picking up gardening.
He makes His Home in the believer. We walk with Him daily as He is our Comforter. We reciprocate by not quenching His work in us. The Fruits of His Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When we display these fruits, we spend time with Him.
Blessings

With an activity like gardening you need to make the connection to God. Allowing yourself to wonder in awe at how God created all of the plants to grow and reproduce allows you to reverence him through his creation. Being in nature s a good way to bring to mind he who created it.

The best you can do to be closer with God, is going to reunions with his people.
Why? because he promised to be there with us, when we gather 2 or 3 in his name. He can be with us when alone but he didn't make a specific promise to show up when we are alone.
If you can find a 'spirit filled' church where God is there, it doesn't matter the amount of people or the building etc, is a treasure.

Jesus made it clear that the seventh day was made for mankind. (Mark 2:27-28) (v.27) And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: Do we understand that, the Sabbath was made for us, not us for the Sabbath. (v.28) Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. The Son of man (Jesus) is the Lord God of the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday). (Ex.31:16-17) (v.16) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. (v.17) It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. You see that the Sabbath day is a sign between God and His people forever. Israel was His people then and whoever chooses to obey Him now are His people.

Let take a look at those who choose to be with the lord and obey him. Let’s go into Isaiah 56: 1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. 2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. 3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; 7 even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

God intended for the weekly Sabbath (this word means rest in Hebrew) to be a refreshing blessing for mankind. God knew that human beings would need periodic rest and change from work. But the purpose for keeping God's Sabbath goes far beyond simply resting on that day. We need that time each week to have close spiritual contact with God through prayer, bible study and fellowship with other believers. The Sabbath day is a blessing.

I love spending time with God in nature. You can really see His loving care in nature. Also consider a group Bible study, its hard to get away from the reading His Word and prayer, its so powerful.

God bless!

All good ideas above, but I'll add another practical perspective.

For decades, I've started my mornings with a floor routine of exercises and stretching - something I'd suggest for everyone. Wanting to fill or entertain my mind while doing that, I'd turn on the radio and listen to music, but that somehow morphed into listening (and half watching) the news. This heightened my political awareness of all the chaos going on in the world and no doubt raised my blood pressure and anger level for the day ahead.

About 5 years ago I just couldn't bear to watch the news anymore, as it simply [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed me off too much. So, I started listening (and half watching) YouTube sermons - every day. What a change to my life. Now, I start my day off with positive physical time and positive God time. I remain aware of world events and bad news, but adding more Christian media time into my daily routine has REALLY improved both my Christian walk and overall daily attitude.

There are thousands of on-line audio and YouTube video sermons to gleen knowledge and encouragement from - with a wide variety of topics to always keep oneself interested. If this intrigues you, just be careful to pick your sources thoughtfully, because the false teacher/preachers outnumber the good ones.

God is quiet, not silent. So, we need to get rid of the noisy stuff of anger and unforgiveness and lusts, so we can sense the LORD and share with Him . . . any time.

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

One of the most effective ways to hear God's voice is to practice stilling yourself. By stillness, I do not mean ceasing activity but quieting the inner man. When you learn to still your own voice, God makes His presence known. The Psalmist said it, and it's true "Be still, and know that I am God."
